911virgin Posted 2July, 2020 Report Share Posted 2July, 2020 to put a 991 911 engine with PDK transmission into a 80's 911 SC or 964 911? and if so, who in Melbourne could do it and approximately what might it cost?

tomo Posted 2July, 2020 Report Share Posted 2July, 2020 There was a 964 that took a swim in a crash a few years ago, I think it had the GT3 Donk with a sequenchal gearbox , They repaired it do not know if it is still raceing though.

hugh Posted 2July, 2020 Report Share Posted 2July, 2020 It all just makes zero sense to me. Only thing for sure is that you'll drop a shit ton of money, ruin 2 perfectly good cars and end up with a product that's no where near as good as a 991 and no where near as cool as a 964. There is a really good reason why more people aren't doing stuff like this. Whilst it may come as a surprise, Porsche make and engineer great cars, typically better than any independent custom fabricator regardless of how much they charge. Keep it simple. Raven Posted 2July, 2020 Report Share Posted 2July, 2020 Yep I agree with Hugh ,for the money it would cost you , one could almost have both a 991 C2 and a 964 C2 ,,the U.S car I posted above used a cup car engine from memory as they are readily available .. hugh
