Frank Posted 19July, 2020 Report Share Posted 19July, 2020 Hi guys i have taken delivery of my new to me 987 from Autohaus, great to deal with btw. Now, both original key fobs work but keep splitting open and at times remote locking does not work. Where do I source new fobs and transfer the inner workings as I understand new complete keys are worth more than kidneys. is there a place I send them or do I eBay a couple and transfer the internal parts my self thank you
firstone Posted 19July, 2020 Report Share Posted 19July, 2020 OEM or ebay. Fob only not very expensive. Frank
Goon Posted 20July, 2020 Report Share Posted 20July, 2020 Ebay replacement is your best bet. Transfer the internals yourself, just a bit of mucking around getting the transponder chip out! Frank

Bibbs Posted 27July, 2020 Report Share Posted 27July, 2020 I've a few from Ali Express .. I had a habit of dropping the keys and the bottom button breaking. They were about $18 each, but takes a month or two. Frank
Apogee Posted 8August, 2020 Report Share Posted 8August, 2020 If you are in the habit of dropping your keys - you might want to consider getting a leather key pouch like one of these: https://www.ebay.com.au/i/124179981851?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-139619-5960-0&mkcid=2&itemid=124179981851&targetid=921460872233&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9071771&poi=&campaignid=10101785207&mkgroupid=102311924860&rlsatarget=aud-786643581566:pla-921460872233&abcId=9300368&merchantid=7364522&gclid=CjwKCAjw97P5BRBQEiwAGflV6dJYoglvtYXbmGno5Max2-0FxxNkXHWfU89K2BU7aYLCooIg06QWnBoCHOwQAvD_BwE Or if you want something more expensive: https://sites.google.com/site/aracelideroche/porsche-design-keycase-lz2-key-wallet-mens Easier than having to replace the fob each time you break it. Bibbs Posted 15August, 2020 Report Share Posted 15August, 2020 Good idea, but far too big for me with modern car keys. I ended up getting a cheap silicone cover. But since having it I've not dropped them to test. https://images.app.goo.gl/DzVmmS7TZGcoMSwL6 Apogee and firstone

So that the key doesn't make holes in my trouser pockets either.

Goon Posted 1April Report Share Posted 1April Can you link us @Kevvie? My spare key doesn't seem to play nice when it comes to the switches.
