996/997 - fixing convertible roof by removing, repairing and reinstalling roof hydraulic cylinders

So I haven't had the roof down on my 996 for ages due to a massive leak in the left cylinder seals. Finally had some time in lockdown to get the roof cylinders out, replaced the seals and reinstalled.

Apparently the same/very similar process in a 997. About 90 minutes to get the cylinders out, and an hour to replace. Couldn't really find a detailed writeup anywhere so hope this helps someone. Full writeup with pics and details at http://www.dtmtune.com/2020/08/porsche-911-996-and-997-convertible.html
