911Gbanger Posted 10September, 2020 Report Share Posted 10September, 2020 Hi Guys, looking at purchasing a 1990 C2 964 Targa. Does anyone know if these cars have vin decals anywhere on the car such as the ones you usually see on the door seals?

If bonnet is original then I think there should be a decal under the frunk bonnet towards the front. Should be the same one as is in the service book. Certainly was there in 996, not sure when they started putting them under the bonnet though, but suspect it was long before..
911Gbanger Posted 10September, 2020 Author Report Share Posted 10September, 2020 Hi Yes, there are what look like metal decals under the bonnet. So no decals on the door jams/ seals ?
WB997.2GTS Posted 10September, 2020 Report Share Posted 10September, 2020 Should be located in the frunk RHS chassis rail
hugh Posted 10September, 2020 Report Share Posted 10September, 2020 The Vin plate should be in the front, on the body under the carpet. I'd be checking that first before you worry about stickers.
911Gbanger Posted 10September, 2020 Author Report Share Posted 10September, 2020 Yes the metal Vin Plate is also located in the left side of the frunk. So the car wouldn’t have originally come with stickers on the door jams / seals ? Was only curious as this car doesn’t have them and thought it’d be odd if every other 964 had them and this didn’t. In other words I shouldn’t be too concerned if this car doesn’t have id stickers on the door jams / seals?
tomo Posted 11September, 2020 Report Share Posted 11September, 2020 The Vin no is stamped on the body at the back of the space saver ( spare Tire) well at about 1200. The no should be the same as those on underside bonnet sticker.
911Gbanger Posted 6October, 2020 Author Report Share Posted 6October, 2020 Ok thanks guys. I won’t worry that it doesn’t have door stickers. The Vin is where it’s supposed to be 🤝
