ML13 Posted 11September, 2020 Report Share Posted 11September, 2020 Any recommendations for a good outdoor cover for a 996?
Avon Posted 11September, 2020 Report Share Posted 11September, 2020 Having used them in the past (caveat: non-Porsche) and not skimped on cheapies (all >$200) I wouldn't bother. They blow off when windy, can buff the paint where they rub against tight corners, are a pain to put on and off. Also the waterproof ones tend to get moisture condensing in between the cover and the paint which can affect the paint, and the breathable ones eventually lose their waterproofing and become sodden. Unless you're mainly after sun protection and can live with a very lightweight one that lets water through but also dries out quickly I haven't found them worth it. GT3 Posted 11September, 2020 Report Share Posted 11September, 2020 Check out Chief Car Covers. I use the Porsche internal one and have the Porsche external one in case I need that but the Chiefs are great. A Red Mk2 Rs2000 Avon I did have one 4 door shame it did not come with the UK pinto motor here.

Merv Posted 11September, 2020 Report Share Posted 11September, 2020 Some of the fabrics have a reflect coating for the sun. On very hot days the heat build up can irreparably burn the car's paint clear coat. These covers should have data on their effective temp range
