reedminor Posted 23October, 2020 Report Share Posted 23October, 2020 Hi Looking for recommendations for an immobilzer for a g series Carrera 3 Coupe. I want something simple, effective and reliable. I'm not interested in a fiddly, difficult to use unreliable system which immobilizes the car in an inconvenient location. I had a Brandt system (the company that supplied Subaru their immobilizers for the early WRX Sti's) that was basically a dongle on the keyring. Providing the dongle was within a certain distance of the immobilizer near the ignition switch the car would start. Ideally Id be looking for something similar. I'm located in metro Melbourne. Id also need a reputable, reliable installer. Thanks Justin
Tips Posted 23October, 2020 Report Share Posted 23October, 2020 Speak to Steve’s Car Alarms in Dandenong. He been doing this for years and can recommend the right set up for what you need. https://stevescaralarms.com.au/
Philbee Posted 23October, 2020 Report Share Posted 23October, 2020 When I bought my 911, I just took it to Weltmeister in Richmond and they picked and arranged to get an immobiliser fitted. I’ve had it 4 yrs now and it’s never missed a beat and their guy knew Porsches so I felt comfy that it wasn’t installed dodgey! Ben is the classic Porsche guy there and was very helpful. I went with a 2 stage unit not 3, it was deemed unnecessary.

wilburforce Posted 1November, 2020 Report Share Posted 1November, 2020 No Limit CSV in South Melbourne did my 79SC. Very happy with the result and they seem to know their way around older cars. I've just got a small keyring fob and haven't had any issues. https://www.nolimitcsv.com.au/

Mark the owner did one of my first cars some 20+ years ago, and I have been using him ever since. Follow up service has been great.
