OZ930 Posted 30May, 2013 Report Share Posted 30May, 2013 The car has a friggin soft top - if one is lazy enough to need to put the keys with the car, wouldn't you put them on the part that won't scratch?? The floor is a good place ! EDIT - alignement is done. The rear camber was out a bit, thats been adjusted. As a result of this the right rear tyre is very slightly worn on the inside. Rest of the alignment was all good. Tyres are very new. Said they easily have 20,000km left on them of good careful driving. So maybe, I swap out the rear 2 for new ones and get rid of that worn tyre? Use the tyres for 20,000km. No need to waste tyres. Will give give you time to research tyres ( A new "Amanda's New Tyre Thread" coming on). Then you can change them. ( the American term SWAP OUT is really annoying !!) Caver Posted 30May, 2013 Report Share Posted 30May, 2013 Keep the existing tyres, you're about to do a driving course aren't you? Better to do your cornering, skidding and braking training on the existing tyres. Trash them if you like...then put on your new boots! If there's plenty left on them, I'd rather put that 1500 odd towards my IMS bearing update and leave the tyres till later. Got the car, its back home and all good... so just drove it again to keep this on topic

I'm certainly no expert on IMS issues (there's plenty out there) but good advice from someone who I know that is, fit a magnetic sump plug. If there's any break down of the bearing , debris will be picked up on the magnet and be easily diagnosed when ever you do an oil change. A bit like cancer, catch it early and you'll have a better prognosis. Jimmy
Uncle Posted 30May, 2013 Report Share Posted 30May, 2013 Oh wait a second I can play this game too now. I drove it to work today* *On a car trailer. I loaded it last night and couldn't be bothered to take the trailer off this morning so it came to work with me. Patrol drives the same with or without a car on the back. Uncle Posted 30May, 2013 Report Share Posted 30May, 2013 Martin, what's with the tie down strap over the side mirror? Just the left over strap. put a couple of twists in it and chuck the rest in the car. The twists stop them from flapping about.
Vas Posted 2June, 2013 Report Share Posted 2June, 2013 Packed up the Porsche with fold up chair and drove to Sandown for the PCV meet. Would have been fine if the meet was actually on today and not next week. Not sure why I thought it was today. Anyhow it was a nice drive in the rain. All ready for the drive.
