michel Posted 15December, 2020 Report Share Posted 15December, 2020 Hi All , a cpl months ago replaced the seals on my targa , prior to renewal it was like most/all, ‘leaky’, though targa roof sat well and was ‘quiet’. purchased front, rear, side seals though AH and spent and continue to spend time finessing fitment. however due to the front seal in particular been an incorrect part; it is 964 specific, it does not allow the roof to sit into the channel on the front screen frame correctly, creating excessive wind noise at anything approaching enjoyable speeds. So I’m ordering correct seals and other parts from Targa Dan to fix this issue. while the roof skin and interior liner is pretty good, I’m going to order these new as well. so has anyone recently ordered parts for DIY Targa fix from Targa Dan or, any other supplier.? if so please offer opinions on quality etc cheers
Mike-S Posted 16December, 2020 Report Share Posted 16December, 2020 I had my roof rebuilt by Dan a few years ago, complete refurb. His seals are excellent as is the headliner he uses, he also fixed up one of the side gutters rather than replace it. Highly recommend taking his advice tbh, the roof came back absolutely perfect. Carting the roof there in my luggage was a challenge....

I’m aware Dan does top shelf work snd a lovely guy - and a targa even folded ain’t no small bit of carry on interested to know peoples experience with the various rebuild Kits etc
TheBaywatchKid Posted 17December, 2020 Report Share Posted 17December, 2020 Following. My SC Targa roof is very noisy and I think it is a mix of targa loop seals and roof combined.

It also cost a bomb with shipping etc. I'd just buy his seals and have someone local do it. Mine wasn't any better than when it was shipped over there. Yes, had I not been travelling through to New Jersey shipping it to him would’ve been costly, so I’d have just ordered a full kit from him to be done here. In talking to him at his house it also transpired just how many spares he had accumulated from over the years, which meant a fair bit of extra stuff came back in the shipping box... cafe_racer and michel
