Mike 66 Posted 5January, 2021 Report Share Posted 5January, 2021 Hi Everyone I have just read on another US forum that the rear seats need the “red knobbed” rear locking pins and not just to use the leather strap? As all seats need to be able to be locked in place for Australian compliancE is this correct? thanks for your help
SM911 Posted 6January, 2021 Report Share Posted 6January, 2021 Australian cars were delivered with the locking pins. However, I have seen PLENTY of imported cars that have gained approval with the original leather straps. I can also attest to the fact that the locking pin mod is a complete pain in the a$$ as the top of the tunnel will need fabrication work. I'm not suggesting what you should/shouldn't do, just hoping to shed some light from experience. Mike 66
Merv Posted 7January, 2021 Report Share Posted 7January, 2021 My Australian '88 Carrera has the red locking pins. My US delivered '68 did not. What year are you talking about Mike?
Mike 66 Posted 9January, 2021 Author Report Share Posted 9January, 2021 Thanks @Merv and @SM911 mine is a 76. I have decided I will do the fabrication and just put them in. It doesn’t look difficult compared to some of the work I’ve done. Thanks for your post and replies mike Merv
