sjm Posted 26January, 2021 Report Share Posted 26January, 2021 This seems to be the logic with more and more insurers that the purchase price is max value covered by the insurer. My 997 S man coupe I purchased 18 months ago for $ 90k with 50000 km is not replaceable for that coin atm. Porsche insurance would only go to 90k max. 1q2w3e4r Posted 27January, 2021 Report Share Posted 27January, 2021 Not sure why this has turned into an insurance thread. You need to tell the insurer about modifications if you want them to payout on them in the event of a claim. firstone

MB insurance also provided me with a quote on the same specifications just $400 perannum cheaper. I asked Porsche about any extra benefit insuring with them over MB - I insured with MB......... sjm

GT3 Console delete 997 Oem Short Shift Recaro Gt3 seats Gemballa Coilovers Hollow Spoke 997 GT3RS wheels 19inch Gundo Hack Exhaust Colour matched Arctic silver centre console This has been done in the last few months, I also had a saga of new roof, which the original installer destroyed and it cost a fortune to get right. If I don't name the installer I can probably tell the story. I'm in the process of trying to achieve compensation. Essentially I arranged install of a new roof through a long standing trimmer located in South East QLD. They quoted the works and said they could do it "we had a Ferrari here yesterday". When I collected the car the same trimmer (owner) was explaining that the youtube videos are wrong..YOUTUBE?? Long story short it then cost double the cost of the original install to have a Porsche trained specialist repair all the cross threaded screws, stripped wires and busted mechanisms. Be very careful who works on your 911! The install of a new roof has a very direct and repeatable install process. Not a job for a first timer. The original trimmer was also not careful with my car when installing the roof and 2 days after I picked it up the roof got stuck down and stayed down until it was repaired by my indy Porsche shop. Interestingly the guy that sorted my roof, also rebuilt the 3.4 engine for the previous owner of my car, installed my coilovers and exhaust and generally is an expert of the highest order. 5 Stars! Good to hear you now have it sorted. Now it's time to enjoy the car..! And, given your positive experience with the independent Porsche workshop who sorted it, you should mention them by name. It may help others needing someone trusted. TwoHeadsTas
