Thanks guys yep he’s a cracker and has a wonderful temperament for a young pup loves people and just socialising with other dogs, albeit slowly until he gets his shots completed. ?

Good thing is he loves going in the car so plenty of coffee drives coming up.

Great dogs. I'd love a Staffy in the future. Nuggety, happy little buggers that seem to love people

Lee he's the best dog we've owned and over 30 years I've had a blue healer, rottweiler, akita, mastiff cross and a pug cross. So happy, can take him anywhere and never a nuisance, - although jumped out the car window at 60 ks for no known reason once and after he came to a stop tumbling, just stood up smiling  blood and grazes all over hahaha ....well trained and loves people and dogs (has a good bark at them but nothing in it). Reasonable watchdog as well, knows who he's meant to bark at and stand his ground growling and when not to do it. Love him to death and he loves nothing better than a feed, a sleep (on his couch) a pat and a good rough n tumble smacking around with us! He thinks he's a human no doubt.

@Troubleshooter Every Staffy I've met has been very friendly and I've wanted to take them home. I was onsite doing retail jobs a few years ago and the lady there was moving overseas and couldn't take her Staffy (I wouldn't go personally, yet I put my dog before anything and everyone), so she offered him to me. Little Miss Maltese Shihtzu wouldn't have a bar of it at the best of times, so I had to sadly decline

Ahh always a problem if the two can't get on... no solution to that one, just Miss Princess gets to keep her unchallenged throne!

Mine had a hernia op so was wearing a blow up donut rather than a cone. Took him for a walk this morning and a lady asked if it was some new cooling ring with a frozen core.

also been very spoilt sleeping in the bed 🙄

Maybe I should get some made, people spend a fortune on pets if my mrs is a comparison

Poor little bugger. Our Maltese Shihtzu has athritis developing (she's 13ish) but still tough as nails. Breaks my heart to see her limping and slow to get up now n then, though she is on 8 tabs a day for heart and skin allergy problems (try ensuring a dog takes 8 tabs per day!) yet we're reluctant to put her on anymore drugs

It is @Tips

She was having some sort of fits that would contort her body, then be screaming like she is in pain which we worked out was her lungs filling up and reducing blood to the brain, which in turn causes her to walk like she was drunk for a few seconds then basically faints and start convulsing. She is always very hot when that happens, so we cool her down with a flannel of cold water and she comes good. It happened this morning at 3am for the first time in many months, as she has been off her food and we couldn't administer the drugs which have been brilliant (Vetmedin) she needs. Then ofcourse the other drugs to stop her scratching aren't being consumed, so she itches and bites herself red raw and it takes a few days of taking the drugs again for that to come good. Its been bloody hard to watch and expensive, but we do whatever we can to help her as she's basically our child. I actually sleep in the lounge most nights, as the drugs mess with her bladder, so I very rarely get a decent sleep when she is barking at me to let her out for a wee every coupla hours 😄😏

The onset of athritis is just another one, and we have been told about a quarterly injection that seems to help which we'll look into more, as we cant do anymore oral drugs...she just won't take them

For the last 12 months we've been getting Cartrophen shots about every 6 weeks for our 15 year old border collie with arthritis.  It does the trick in getting her comfortable and stops her becoming lame.  Life's a lot slower now, no more chasing balls in the park, just a gentle stroll around the back blocks sniffing trees, grass, poles etc.  SO slow in fact an elderly lady with a walking frame passed us on the footpath the other day.

We (my wife mostly) are on the hunt for another dog so i am putting out some feelers on here to see if any one can help. Lots of dogs are apparently for sale but no one will get back to us. i think most of them are scams or old adverts and when you chase them up they don't respond. My wife is after a mostly non shedding type like Ted above here, i also don't want to spend a lot of money on a dog, i know most dogs cost a bomb these days, unfortunately gone are the days when you could pick up a dog on just about every street corner. We want something smallish but still walk-able and with at least half a brain, mini Schnauzer is high on the list but also a high price. Any points in the right direction will be much appreciated if anyone knows of anything.
