iffarrukh Posted 29April, 2021 Report Share Posted 29April, 2021 Hi Folks Just a friendly post, I have full working PIWIS II in Melbourne now and have made some good changes with it. If anyone is looking to enable some features which require PIWIS, I am more than happy to assist. The PIWIS II can work on all cars up to 2016 (not sure about 2017 but will depend if it still have the earlier model hardware) Some of the things I have done using PIWIS II on my Cayenne GTS 2016 - Install and enable ACC (Calibration done at a proper shop) - Install and enable HomeLink - Install and enable factory tow hitch - Some other minor tweaks (disable start/stop, able to turn off DRL(I go to drive in cinema so needed that ), FYI, Anything you want to do would be at your own risk. slknv
slknv Posted 23May, 2021 Report Share Posted 23May, 2021 Would it work for general diagnostics on an early 996.1? My car has been resting for a few months while I've been trying to diagnose some weird eletrical glitches, and my basic OBD reader doesn't interpret all the porsche reading
iffarrukh Posted 15June, 2021 Author Report Share Posted 15June, 2021 Yes, it does cover Porsche 911 (996/997)
James P Posted 16June, 2021 Report Share Posted 16June, 2021 @iffarrukh Are you selling the PIWIS? I would be interested
iffarrukh Posted 16June, 2021 Author Report Share Posted 16June, 2021 @James P Sorry, I use it often so not selling. But you can buy one from following website(I bought from here as well) . https://www.obd2tool.com/ And if you are in Mel, Happy to let you have a look and test/use it before you buy. Merv Posted 19June, 2021 Report Share Posted 19June, 2021 Looks useful. For general diagnostics I have found the iCarSoft valuable. Not costly and doesn't need a computer interface. Most of the PIWIS only work on PCs, not Macs - leaving out a significant market sector. Fishcop

Hi Iffarrukh, I have read that PIWIS can be used to program a Macan I (MY15) for white instrument dials. This would have the effect of having backlighting on the speedo and tacho when driving in daylight on DRLs. Are you able to do this with your PIWIS equipment? I can supply the necessary coding. Thank you.
mausling Posted 17November Report Share Posted 17November Hi Iffarrukh, Reaching out to you as I've just replaced my 957 instrument cluster with that from a turbo model. Working perfectly except I'd like to change the odo to be correct and also another couple of settings to correct errors due to vin mismatch etc. I'm more than happy to pay you for the use of the PIWIS 2. Please let me know if this is something you'd be willing to help me with. Cheers
