718 Rear Number Plate Mount For NSW

Hi,

I've just purchased a pre-owned 718 Boxster out of Melbourne. It's rear Number Plate Mount isn't compatible with NSW plates. I spoke to spare parts at a Sydney Porsche Centre and the guy said number plate mounts are fitted at the factory and are specific to the state the car is ordered from. He quoted me $250 to order the NSW specific mount out of Germany.

Can anybody provide me with further input or an easier and cheaper aftermarket fix ?

Normally I’d say https://www.lakinplates.com.au but I see on the site he’s not taking orders due to parts issues out of the US.

I use double sided 3m tape on my cars for the plates. never drilled and never lost a plate.

Hi @chappoaj  - I’d be interested to see what the rear number plate mount looks like so would be great if you were able to post a picture - I ask because I was unaware Porsche provided a mount for the rear. Thanks!
