Nick-PBTB Posted 2February, 2022 Report Share Posted 2February, 2022 Porsches by the Bay Returns for 2022 The return of the best early morning Porsches and Coffee event in Australia. After a few troubled covid years it'll be great to get back to some normality with a return to semi regular Melbourne meetups. Meeting on the morning of the 27th Feb at Brighton Baths from 7-9am, come down for a chat and a coffee on the last weekend of summer to have a look at some beautiful Porsches This time up PBTB will be hosted by local Porsche aficionado and longtime forum member James Papas ( @James P ) with the recent launch of his business RSR Classic. Be sure to find James and pick his brains about all things Porsches from race cars to classics. Should be a lovely morning with coffee available close by from the Brighton Baths. All are welcome, look forward to seeing you all down there, Nick moosey, DM911, James P and 9 others
Mike-S Posted 2February, 2022 Report Share Posted 2February, 2022 A bunch of us will be arriving back in from a week in Tassie that morning, sounds like an immediate stop off 👍 Nick-PBTB, Arne Krix and MFX
luzzo Posted 2February, 2022 Report Share Posted 2February, 2022 Keen to come along. Look forward to it. Although, after @Stepo holding the 996 meet at this same location only 2 weeks ago, it will have a lot to live up to... 😎 Stepo, Arne Krix and Nick-PBTB 1

Nick-PBTB Posted 23February, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 23February, 2022 4 days to go. Should be a large one so make sure to get down early. Your host of this iteration of PBTB @James P he’ll be roaming around so have a chat about his new venture RSR Classic. Just a PSA Beach road will be closed from middle park to Elwood so take that into account when you are heading down. See you guys soon Troubleshooter, James P and hugh
Niko Posted 27February, 2022 Report Share Posted 27February, 2022 Well.....what a great day and what a great turn up. A bit of everything there. Early birds were there just after 6.30 and then the rest poured in for the next hour and a half.. We took up most of the car park to the annoyance of a couple of the locals, but it is Brigghhttoooon. Just a selection of a few of the cars today. A couple of droups then ended up at the Naked Racer for brekky, and a good chat. Overall it was a fantastic day. I personally met a few people I hadn't seen for some time, thanks to covid mainly. Thank you Nick from NB AUTO and James P for organising todays event. It was something special. Oh and for all those interested the PEOPLES CHOICE AWARD for the day, went to a basalt black 987.2 Cayman S, rego AEW 699 AKA the "BBC". A lot of stiff competition there but this one just got up and won the special award once again.🤗😛 Hmmmmmm.... Joz Posted 27February, 2022 Report Share Posted 27February, 2022 Unfortunately missed it due to a massive hangover 🤕. Was so excited too!😢 Looks like a great turn out. Grimmy

Dalai Posted 27February, 2022 Report Share Posted 27February, 2022 Great photos @Niko! As I expected, it was well attended and due to the size of the carpark I decided to get there early too. Didn't take long to fill up! Was good to see a range of models including one 944. Would have to be the most GT3's I've seen at the same spot! Watched Sven and the GT3 Cup Cars, with Christian Fitzgerald doing a great job carving through the field to take Second place. 944 Challenge also fun to watch. Dalai Posted 27February, 2022 Report Share Posted 27February, 2022 Probably need to find a bigger car park though. Could have filled it two times over!

As a potential alternative, the former RSR Coffee meets were up the road at North Road Foreshore Car Park, parking was always good there (caveat I missed Sunday's catch up though)... Dalai Posted 28February, 2022 Report Share Posted 28February, 2022 Half that car park though is boat trailer parking and honestly think close to about the same size. Personally I'd rather p1ss off Brighton baths patrons than fisherman... I think the later might physically remonstrate and make room for their 4WD and trailer WITH their 4WD and trailer! Joz Posted 28February, 2022 Report Share Posted 28February, 2022 The Elwood beach carpark is more than large enough. I just don't know about cafe style facilities? I know there is a place that does takeaway coffee but not sure about any with seating?

They definitely will be locations in the future but there was a triathlon on this weekend. Looking to have some variety on locations and should have a coffee van in the future to help this James P, Dalai and Joz

Lucky Phil Posted 24March, 2022 Report Share Posted 24March, 2022 8 hours ago, nbauto said: Planned for May 29th hopefully can secure a coffee van Might be easier to plan the event where an existing coffee van has a permit to operate there rather than pick a place and try and find someone who will attend.
