WB997.2GTS Posted 28February, 2022 Report Share Posted 28February, 2022 Like the photo attached, Look up SpecIalised ECU Repairs in the US, you will need to advise on the frequency required when ordering. Buy two as I need a spare.
911virgin Posted 28February, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 28February, 2022 hey WB997 thanks for the photo- that is the thing i mean, yes how do you work out the frequency required? assume that is unique for each car?
WB997.2GTS Posted 1March, 2022 Report Share Posted 1March, 2022 Usa is 315mhz, Europe and (ROW) is 433mhz. If you open your existing fob you will most probably find frequency tag inside. I’ll check mine when I’m home. Their site also has a coding sequence PDF.
WB997.2GTS Posted 2March, 2022 Report Share Posted 2March, 2022 You can confirm the frequency by checking the code on the face of the Immobiliser, mine is 315.05mhz. Its located under the passengers seat.
pocketscience Posted 12April, 2022 Report Share Posted 12April, 2022 Late ato the party, but do you have the original switch blade key? I'm not sure when they changed to that but I've just changed over my '97 993 from the switch blade key (which sucks), to the seperate key and remote setup like my '95 993. The guts of the remote moves over to the new case without any hassle - it's identical. The key head can be liberated from the switch blade setup and moved into a standard key head in a few minutes as well. I looked at 3rd party stuff but ended up buying the empty remote case and key head from Porsche. No mucking about with reprogramming remotes etc.

All up around $230. You should be able to do the same with the cheaper 3rd party bits off ebay or wherever. If you do go with original these are the part numbers: Fob: 993.618.959.12 Key head: 944.538.041.
