Blue964 Posted 20March, 2022 Report Share Posted 20March, 2022 G'day Boys and Girls, Got a 964 with the dreaded disintegrating odometer gears. Pulled apart my odometer and it's a 17 tooth small pod (red gear 15.5mm pod) with 15 tooth gear. Hop on to Pelican and it's telling me Oz 964s use a 15 tooth medium pod (not a 17 tooth small pod)...WTF, that's not what I pulled out of my speedo. Anyone here done a gear replacement on their Oz 964 and what pod did you use? Cheers BTW...it's an Oz delivered
WB997.2GTS Posted 20March, 2022 Report Share Posted 20March, 2022 If you are in Sydney ring Jason at Manly Auto Instruments. He usually has all of the gears in stock and its a one or two day turnaround service with includes dismantling, cleaning & calibration for around $150,,, Note he will not sell the gears separately. symsy and Blue964

Thanks. I'll give him a call, but I am really only after the gears. Mind you calibration wouldn't go astray. Thanks again.

Peter M Posted 20March, 2022 Report Share Posted 20March, 2022 Richard at Repairs Only at Yowie Bay used to sell the gears. Not sure he is still in business but might be worth a call Repairs- Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Electrotherapy, Nail Drill (aapt.net.au) as the gears weren't expensive and the repair itself is straight forward. micknine01 Posted 21March, 2022 Report Share Posted 21March, 2022 +1 for Jason. I wanted to buy the gears recently for a 901 speedo, but ended up sending to jason as I couldn’t find the right ones. $160 total, including calibration Blue964
