SCchronicles Posted 22April, 2022 Report Share Posted 22April, 2022 Hey I am looking at new Fuchs for my 78 SC and have heard 9 inch rears can fit (sometimes). Has anyone tried this? What should I look out for?
Peter John Posted 22April, 2022 Report Share Posted 22April, 2022 I had a sweet pair of 9” on the rear of 77 Carrera 3.0 and fitted lovely
sus911 Posted 22April, 2022 Report Share Posted 22April, 2022 As you see they can fit, if you have the correct offset. But on an SC I would say it would be more for looks than any performance enhancement. Peter M

LeeM Posted 23April, 2022 Report Share Posted 23April, 2022 What tyre options are available in 245x16?
81SC Posted 23April, 2022 Report Share Posted 23April, 2022 Gents, are you using 225 or 245 wide tyres on your 9" rear wheels? 13 hours ago, 911B said: Spot on fit 12 hours ago, Dalai said: Fills the guards nicely! 👍
Dalai Posted 23April, 2022 Report Share Posted 23April, 2022 245/45/16's on mine. Only issue with this is there aren't many tyre options in that size. Michelin make a classic version, Pirelli too. I was able to locally source Pirelli P Zero Rosso's with matching fronts 225/55/16 the last I set purchased a few years ago. That's why I asked the question above. Last time I was looking for 245x16's, there was very limited choice and none in the country, and if there was anything available, they were megabucks @SCchronicles Do your tyre homework before buying any rims Dalai
Nighthawk Posted 23April, 2022 Report Share Posted 23April, 2022 Yes, limited tyre choice, I also got a set of Pirelli P Zero’s, had to ship them up from Melbourne.
Dalai Posted 23April, 2022 Report Share Posted 23April, 2022 Yokohama have a tyre now in that size too. ADVAN A052. Wasn't available in Australia when I was shopping. Classic versions were from memory $2.2K plus. The P Zero Rosso's were around $1.5K for the four tyres if I recall correctly.

Doish13 Posted 10April, 2023 Report Share Posted 10April, 2023 Perfect. Fills out the guards perfectly. Was considering widening my 16x8’s this looks perfect as the gap to guard on the passenger side in particular is there
LeeM Posted 11April, 2023 Report Share Posted 11April, 2023 @Doish13 Fitting 225 tyres to 9inch rims rounds off/stretches the edges a bit, yet I've seen a couple of SC's with them fitted and it looks fine to me. Doish13
