Looking at selling my '83 944

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Long time no post. Life been uber busy and I have been seriously neglecting the time I want to spend on the car, only achieving a couple of hours each month and it's making me sad looking at it and not having the time to care for it and get it finished. Working full time and studying full time currently so I'm not finding the time to get to work on the car and I think I am needing to regretfully sell it to someone interested in a partially finished project (aren't they all? lol).

Work done

  • New upgraded (those pretty yellow Konis) shocks all round
  • New wheels and tyres (Euromeister 17" rims with Falken Azenis tyres), still have original 15's if you're that way inclined
  • Short shift kit
  • Upgraded brake rotors and pads with braided lines front( braided lines rear yet to be installed)
  • MOMO steering wheel (original in box)
  • New battery with isolator
  • Script seats front in black in ok condition, no tears just faded. Rear script seats in dark blue good although the top half of them is from a later model so the clip to hold it up is a little different. Was going to get adapter fabricated from local metal shop
  • Registered in QLD with PSH944 plates

On the todo list (for me anyway)

  • Had to pull carpets out due to a water leak from roof (new roof seal ready for install), carpets not yet ordered but interior mostly prepped for reinstall (got the black tar sealant stuff to put in) *Carpets/underlay/sound deadening have now arrived.
  • Air con required
  • Dash appears in good condition without cracks but covered in ugly fake carbon fiber, door panels a bit rough looking
  • Reindex torsion bars due to a bit of a gangster lean currently
  • $50 head unit removed... was about to get new system installed but not yet ordered
  • Brand new front wishbones and bushes waiting to be installed
  • Fuel and air filter waiting to be installed. Nothing wrong with existing fuel filter but figured why not just get it with the other parts I ordered while I was at it.
  • Front left fibreglass bumper a bit misshapen due to previous owner not glassing a crack properly
  • Inspect 3rd gear. A little crunchy when cold but when hot, no issues at all.

After the todo list is done the car is good to go. Still runs super well and gives me a damn smile every time even without sound deadening currently lol. It's not an overly large list I feel, but I just don't have the time to work on it consistently.

Happy to provide more photos at request. Photo of inside attached was before carpets removed. Log book lost prior to my ownership. Have a pile of receipts from previous owner and myself.

Car located on the Gold Coast, QLD.

I'm not certain on what the price should be as the prices I've seen vary wildly but I'm thinking $20k is my number and represents a moderate loss from purchase price and money spent (as to be expected) but I'm not sure if that's offensive or not. If it is, please tell me and I'll probably keep it and take a month off work to get it finished.

***Update***

I am now between jobs and now willing to sell at a reduced price given my current circumstances around cashflow. $15k would be great but happy to have a discussion for an immediate sale.

Hey Blake, I know the feeling about getting time to work in them😎 Keen to get some more photos if possible, I’m in Melbourne but happy come up at some time to have a look. How soon do you want to sell it??
