Sov Posted 28September, 2022 Report Share Posted 28September, 2022 I need some smart people input. The top mounts / top hats / supporting mounts / whatever else you'd like to refer to them as, were flogged out on my car and I was lucky enough to pick up a lightly used pair of Elephant Racings 'QuickChange' Camber plates from a member here a little while back. There's some play now in the rear track arms which has sent me down the path of "what else can I replace?". My question to the hive mind though is, how much adjustability is overkill? Being that almost every component can be purchased as an upgraded adjustable version, control arms / caster arms / drop links / etc. Where do you stop?! When I bought the car it had a set of (what I believe to be) Bilstein B14 coilovers (height adjustable only) that had been fitted ~2014. Everything else suspension wise was stock. If you are smarterer than me ... Help ...
911CSR Posted 28September, 2022 Report Share Posted 28September, 2022 Having been in this exact position when i refreshed mine, after talking to many a persion I went with standard arms and Powerflex poly bushes. As the arms were the originals from 2003 I got new Meyle arms and replaced the rubber bushes. If you think you'll need camber, toe, caster etc, then Elephant Racing is the way to go. US guys swear by them. PS; Definitely not smater than, well your average driveway pebblecrete Sov

I have coilovers and want to also take advantage of a little more lowering, ya know, for the 'gram. 11 hours ago, 911CSR said: PS; Definitely not smater than, well your average driveway pebblecrete Me too! If you search my user name I posted a full parts list on my suspension upgrade on my 996 turbo. The only change since that post was as part of a world wide recall on olhins road and track front coilovers on a 996 turbo , they provided elephant racing front top plates Sov

Sov Posted 5October, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 5October, 2022 I'm still lost in the weeds on this. Very frustrating that every supplier wants to either call a part a different name OR WORSE call every part a bl**dy control arm!
