Tips Posted 29March Report Share Posted 29March Must be a constant legal battle between them, only lawyers making money out of this LeeM
JWM Posted 30March Report Share Posted 30March Anyone know what it’s about? I did some Googling, only found details from a while ago on that Dakar style thing Singer did because they put the actual Porsche name on it. I assume this is something new? Tips Posted 30March Report Share Posted 30March I was very fortunate to have dinner with Rob and some of his team in Syd a few weeks ago. Having been to Tuttle and seeing the AC I asked if the relationship with Porsche was improving based on media that you could have your singer motor assembled by Porsche Motorsport, and would the AC project now get off the ground. There was an awkward silence, rob said they are no longer working with Porsche and only ended up doing a couple of engines with them in the classic program. looks like the relationship will now be managed through lawyers which is a big pity JWM
OZ930 Posted 30March Report Share Posted 30March I wonder if it is that Singer is putting their name on a Porsche, which is a breach of copyright, as I see it, unlike RUF who bought Porsche shells to manufacture their cars under agreement or licence. I’m no legal eagle and this could be complete rubbish.

LeeM Posted 30March Author Report Share Posted 30March It just opens the floodgates for ALL of these 'bespoke' 911 backdating companies (who are mostly blatantly copying Singer) to be sued.
WGA Posted 30March Report Share Posted 30March Porsche needs to get over it. Singer has only enhanced the brand perception for older cars. If they are successful in this case, then there goes Gunterworks, Rennsport, Tutthill, etc, etc.... LeeM

LeeM Posted 1April Author Report Share Posted 1April Porsche SHOULD sue that mob Tedson for crimes against motoring. Their new 'creation' called the Daydream R which is an air cooled hybrid 🙄
sleazius Posted 1April Report Share Posted 1April They probably just pushed it too far with the ACS, not helped by the Porsche script all over it. The cynic in me just sees this as yet another VW group cash grab to force the restomod companies to pay licensing fees. tomo
