Master GT3 RS at QR

Recommended Posts

Attended the Master GT3 RS training event at QR Raceway yesterday. Fabulous day. Perfect weather. Phenomenal car.

It was the first event Porsche has run in these cars so had no previous benchmarks to pre-judge how fast the students might be. Reference lap was 56.1 (although they had done faster 55s but chose the 56.1 as a tidier ref lap for us to measure ourselves against). As a comparison, ref lap around QR for the Cup car is in the 52s, ref lap for the 4RS is 57.8.

Normally at these events, the lap times of the students varies a lot depending on previous experience, size of cojones, etc. BUT, this time, every Student was into the 57s pretty damn quickly only 1-1.5 secs off the ref lap. My best lap was 57.2 which I was very pleased with.

Luke Youlden said he had never seen lap times like this before not sure how much was the car vs maybe a higher than normal level of student…but did potentially put a lot of it down to the car allowing students to get up to speed very quickly.

I think I might need to get one now.

On the Sprint Circuit?

No. Clubman circuit which, as you probably know,  is a bit longer and more tricky than the Sprint. As a result, lap times on the Sprint are much faster than the Clubman.

I have done "Performance" at QR few weeks ago. They used white and red RSs for the first time.  They make you feel like a pro. Looking forward to Master GT3Rs session later this  year. 👍
