[SOLD] Used Bilstein PSS9 - height adjustable coilovers for the 987

Recommended Posts

The set of PSS9 off my 987.1 CS are now up for sale :D I thoroughly enjoyed these PSS9 for the last 7yrs and they were still in good condition when we removed them.  I was refreshing a few suspension bits mid-last year at PR Tech and took the opportunity to try the Ohlins R&T with the same spring rate F70NM  R80NM spring rate. End up being a pretty similar ride on the street with slightly different rebound characteristics the stiffer you dial it.

New, PSS9 would set you back about 4k-$5.5k AUD without the eibach linear springs. Depends on your intended use.  I have a fairly high tolerance and preference for the raw experience. OEM & standard PSS9 spring rates are on the soft side with PSS9 being more comfortable than the OEM given the better weight control.  The uprated linear spring rate makes the car sharper and more responsive while still street-able. Great for the occasional drive at "the farm".  Slightly louder than stock :D

Pick up only in Sydney - inner west.

Updated Price Aug 22 - Wife says it all has to go :D

$1000 ono -  Still prefer to sell all together. Will park offers that separate the coil over, ERS for 1 week before separating)

(Separate - PSS9 w/OEM spring $700, Eibach ERS main & tender spring with rear adapter for OEM mount $300)

1. 4 x PSS9 height adjustable coilovers for 987 - 1 rear coil over was replaced and has approx 7k kms. 3 have travelled approx 40k km on road.

The 2 x Front dampers have been shortened so can dial in a lower stance without hitting the bumpstops. All dampers are the standard PSS9 Valving with 9 clicks of adjustment. The standard valving can accomodate different spring rates within a range.

If you're going to pay for installation/corner weight/wheel alignment, I would recommend that the interested buyer budget for a shock dyno ($220 per pair - 9 clicks tested + dyno print) and recondition while they are off the car (approx $562 per pair with Heasman or can go via PR Tech). Once reconditioned, you'll have brand new shocks all round that will last for the years to come :D.

If you're DIY'er and love the work, you can dyno then install, recon later

If  you had some other purpose in mind, you can have the dampers rebuilt to a custom rate :D

2. original Bilstein progressive springs (blue) which are slightly stiffer than PASM/ Cayman R set up

3. uprated eibach linear & Tender springs (red)  -  F 70N/mm R 80 N/mm worth approx $1100 new and same rate spec'd as Ohlins R&T

4, aluminium adapters for linear springs installation into the OEM topmounts made by PR Tech

I've left the dyno to the interested buyer as it depends on which spring set you want to go with. Depending on your expectation, the max outlay @ new price is approx $2300 dyno'd and fully recon'd
