Ardyne Posted 28May Report Share Posted 28May Looking for a more comfortable ride other than my hardbacks (which im going to keep as they were stock with the car). Don't really care if they come from other models like a 964 etc but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I'm a low end cruising type of driver and do about 100Ks a day in the car and want a little more cushioning. Thanks heaps
LeeM Posted 28May Report Share Posted 28May If you can find a pair and are prepared to pay the money (anywhere from $2500-5000, then original sport seats from an SC or similar are probably THE most comfortable seats I've ever sat in, and they hold you in very well when cornering I was very, very stupid to sell mine bumble and Harsh
Carrera28 Posted 28May Report Share Posted 28May The cheapest Porsche seats might the standard seats out of a 996 or 986 From personal experience I found the base 996 seats to be very comfortable for long distance driving They didn't have airbags so seats from a wrecker won't have exploded airbags on sides and I suspect that the greater numbers of the 986 and 996 will make seats easier to come by. Fitting does require some customisation and wiring, however according to this Rennlist discussion it is DYI job: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-forum/220783-my-996-sport-seat-install-diy.html
