Ardyne Posted 3August Report Share Posted 3August HI All, Not sure if its an ISV or ICV. Had revs holding after clutch engagement. Read the ISV can be an issue for this (dunno if true). Took mine out and gave it a good clean with carb cleaner. Still too early to tell if its fixed the issue as it was intermittent however..... Wanted to ask what effects cleaning the ISV had on the car. For example when revving out in second it was common for there to be a retardation in the revs from say 4 to 5.5-6K, almost like I could feel the varioram adjusting (best way to describe it). It was I guess a non linear rev increase from 4 to 5.5-6K. Since cleaning this mystical ISV it feels to rev much more smoothly. Im assuming its a placebo but at the moment its a lot more linear up to the redline. 1. Would the ISV affect this non linear effect I was experiencing ? 2. What else does a non functioning ISV affect ? Thanks P.S not the greatest photos sorry
Ardyne Posted 10August Author Report Share Posted 10August Hanging revs have not reappeared. Revving from 4 to 6.5 is heaps smoother. I'm not a mechanic so I can't definitely say this clean was the solution or whether it a coincidence but what I would definitely do is pull the front hose off and take a look inside....
