So noticed my car was crunching getting into first and reverse and tried to diy clutch adjstment on my 915 following this https://youtu.be/mrFxDwvZlAI?si=MBUvl2jESdvLjBU5

Did it the first time and as i was tightening the bolts to get from 1.2mm to 1.0mm the clutch cable bracket snapped... i thought maybe it was damaged from before and ordered a new one from Porsche , took 2 weeks to get here from Germany and tried the adjustment again tonight being careful not to overtighten it and the same thing happened.....what am i doing wrong ? I saw that Wevo makes a bracket but its for backdating to 901 style which don't want to do. Surprised i havent come across a stronger unit that replicates the factory design...

Guess gonna order another one , loosely fit it and take it to a shop unless someone has some better insights...

yes, take it to a shop. Not sure what you are doing to break that bracket.. It shouldn't be coming under any undue force to make that happen. The locknuts on either side are only nipped up enough to stop the cable moving. I know you said you were careful not to overtighten it, but .....

Without watching exactly what you are doing, I couldn't offer any insight, sorry.

Thanks for the response @Mike D'Silva. All im doing is basically this step at the 4 minute mark..

I loosen the bolt with my size 15 wrench on the left side of that broken bracket then tighten the right side bolt, only thing i can think of is maybe im not loosening the left side enough before i tighten the right side to put the cable at tension, and once i tighten the right side its pinching the bracket as i haven't backed off the left side bolt enough and its snapping it?

I need to install it though to drive the car to the shop so worried i'll break it again. If anyone local to hunters hill that knows what they are doing is free to lend a hand, it would be appreciated otherwise I'll just tighten it loosely to hopefuilly be able to get it to the shop

OK just to round out this thread. 3rd time lucky and finally got the clutch adjustment done. Sorry if this is obvious to everyone else but i snapped 2 brackets as the nut on the left side in the red circle, i would loosen but not loosen enough so when i tight the nut on the right side, it would eventually squeeze the bracket and it would snap. In my mind i thought it would just stop letting you tighten it i guess. Only other thing I did was once i thought i had the right gap of 1.00MM, i pumped  the clutch a few times and re-gapped it as it was a way off still. Seems to have improved my overall shifting and its doesnt seem to be crunching in first and reverse anymore so hopefully thats sorted my issues out. Will see as I drive it more.
