Porsche model thread

I'm hanging out to find a nice 1/18 model of the 956 and 917. Exoto make a nice one, out of production now I believe and expensive.

I was too.  Found my on e-bay for about half the original selling price from Exoto.

I like the idea of models of pivotal cars I have owned, but where am I going to find models of 4 cyl LC Toranas, GXL XC Falcons and LB/LC Lancers?

My ambition is the same which is to have a model car of every car I have owned. In the end the comprimise I had to make was that for some cars I bought a racing version of the car. I couldn't find an XD Falcon at a price I was willing to pay but in the end got a Dick Johnson 1/43 scale Group C racer. If you are willing to stretch the definition to include race cars you can probably get all three.

You would surprised the number of Japanese cars that you can get in 1/43. I think in Japan they were not called Lancers but at various times Colts, Mirages, Galants etc. If you research this and expand your search terms you may find what you want.

At the risk of train-spotting, the LA lancer is much more freely available in model form than the LB, but yeah, I'm sure they are out there somewhere.

4 cyl toranas not so much (with good reason lol)  but as it was my first car, it has meaning to me beyond the actual value of the car.

I've owned more cars than most people have in matchbox collections so I'm not that ambitious (used to buy and sell them to fund my engineering certificate)

Thanks for the heads up.

I had an alert on ebay for years and was receiving emails but all quite dear. Haven't looked for about a year now.

I might look at these a more carefully.

What about this one Russ, Green Targa 911 on flea bay
