Some lovely cars!

Hi everyone,

Moved back to Melbourne from the UK last month, and patiently waiting for my 2006 Cayman S to arrive in two weeks, which I will be bringing in as a personal import. After having spent most of my time getting preventative maintenance done, the car is now schmick and now keen to enjoy it on some Victorian roads.

Manual (yay), and it has Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers, Carnewal GT Exhaust, GT3 Cup Lip, and Spacers.

Hope it passes RWC (yikes) - a bit worried about the height, it is set up on Cayman R specs, but it's a tad low on the front with the lip.

Mate, love the stance, cant wait to hear the Carnewal exhaust. Tell me more about the GT3 Cup lip...where's that from?

Cheers

Thank you Barks.

Yes, sure, happy to let you hear the Carnewal exhaust when I get the car on the road! I do love it, worth every penny in my books.

The lip is an OEM 996 GT3 Cup lip, which was fairly cheap (~150GBP). Surprisingly, it fits almost perfectly, and adds a subtle touch.  I don't have any good pictures of it unfortunately, but I attach the best one I have.

Hi everyone,

I've just - finally! - bought my first Porsche. It's my 40th car, so a good way to bring up the round number!

The plan had been to travel up to the mainland to go Porsche hunting, but we all know how that's worked out...😒

So, desperate times mean desperate measures, etc. - and I've gone and bought a 2004 911 Carrera 2 (coupe/manual) from, what I hope is, a reputable independent Porsche specialist. Sight unseen!

I'm told it was loaded on to the truck yesterday in Melbourne and, in normal times, it takes 4-5 days to get down here in Hobart. Who knows how long it will take now.

The photos are from the advertiser, so you now know as much as me! 😁

Cheers,

Tony.

Yep, well spotted - Atlas Grey. Hope it looks this good in the metal! T.

Doesn't seem that many Pcar owners ticked the Atlas Grey box but to me it looks the best of the greys on certain models, you'll love it

I think you're right, though there were a few (including Boxsters) in Atlas Grey that I'd bookmarked when shopping. It's amazing how different it looks in different lights - you'd have two, or even three, cars being advertised - all Atlas Grey - and they'd look completely different! Whatever lighting Lorbek uses, for example, it really brings out trhe blue/green in a lovely little 986 they've recently/currently had/have.

I’ve been a member here for ages, but I’ve now managed to buy my first Porsche.
I’ve only driven it once so far, but I absolutely love it.
68 912 with a 3.2 motor and G50 upgrade.
It’s just a fun car to drive. I can’t wait until I’m allowed to get out and enjoy it.
cheers.

Best Buy of 2020 I’d say, perfect combo of long hood and power. Congrats

Hello from the West Coast,

I’v been using the forum for a while now, but never posted any comments or introduction. About two years ago I was fortunate enough to make a deal on a 77 911S, Since then the 911 has had a lot of improvements and plenty of driving. Mostly original driveline but cosmetically has the steel wide body conversion so it looks like a 930. Lots of fun.

Kind Regards,

Aaron
