LeeM Posted 1April, 2019 Report Share Posted 1April, 2019 @Niko Our local council had this big hoohaa about fining the shopping centers and dobbing in offenders, yet it's more just a vote getting things by the mayor. An old mates brother is high up in that council, yet I dont want to bother him with something as trivial as this at the moment. If it gets personal with these clowns, I'll need to stock up on some barrels and acid! We know they're dealing drugs after the bust they had, and the neighbour tells me he sees cars stop for 2 minutes then off again, so it's a no brainer they're into something dodgy. Proving it is the hard part, as none of us want to make an official statement which will seal our fate if it goes to court, and we end up with vandalised homes or worse. We don't know if they're just selling weed for themselves, or harder shit for some harder crims, so at the moment I'm just going to shut my gob unless it gets ugly. If it does, then theyll regret it

Its a hard call, as to whether to get involved or not, but your going to be living there for longer than they will be, so just leave them to their own devices, it will all come unstuck... firstone and LeeM
LeeM Posted 1April, 2019 Report Share Posted 1April, 2019 True Niko. When they got raided by plod and after they'd taken all the plants and hydro gear, a big argument started with their neighbour, punches were thrown then the baseball bats came out. It was pretty funny to watch really, yet even though I'm one to throw the first punch when threatened, I'll keep calm and just try to ignore them. I asked the council guy today if they'd fund some razor wire for my fence, but he declined for some reason 🙄😁 firstone and Niko 1

LeeM Posted 16June, 2019 Report Share Posted 16June, 2019 We rarely eat out, yet we head to our favourite place (Marion Hotel front bar for you Adelaide people) to get a great steak which we have always thoroughly enjoyed that is always pretty big and cooked to perfection for the past 2 years or more nearly every other Sunday, which is served with a decent salad and chips (we're easily pleased). The place is undergoing a big reno with a 4 storey hotel/motel being added, so they said the staff have to bring it around from the old kitchen. No problem, we're happy to wait...then we get this Now I'm not usually one to complain to staff or managent about service etc at any establishment, but this is a f...ing joke! A cardboard box FFS? Half the salad, half the chips and a smaller steak than normal (still cooked to perfection) yet cost the same price? I called the bar chick over to have a little whinge, and she completely agreed with me and said many others had said the same thing and that they've lost a lot of clientle, yet management have said to her that's how it will come to that part of the pub until renovations are completed (another 6 months or more), yet if we want to dine in the dining room, the steaks are $8-10 dearer. Why, coz it's on a plate? 😡 When you pay $62 for 2 meals and 2 Coke's, you don't expect to be eating out of a cardboard box for chrissakes! I devour mine within 2 minutes, yet the missus takes her time which resulted in the steak being stuck to the cardboard and she had to scrape it off! 😳 So fkn annoyed that my favourite place to eat has turned to this Troubleshooter and Tips
Coastr Posted 17June, 2019 Report Share Posted 17June, 2019 That’s just not on. Share the story widely - that place should promptly go out of business or be sold to someone who knows what customer service is. LeeM

That was another whinge I had...and the ice in our drinks melted too quickly... As I mentioned above, they said they had to bring it around outside the hotel but they didn't. She just came through a door near us. I know its trivial and we/I very rarely if at all complain at a restaurant etc, but I'm bloody annoyed @Coastr
edgy Posted 17June, 2019 Report Share Posted 17June, 2019 And that's why I mainly cook at home... If we eat out, its either cheap ass (but good) hole in the wall joints, or I'm spending it, to do it right were I know they deliver... most the stuff in the middle just isn't worth your dollars or time! e.g. for your $60~ you could buy some very good quality beef and grill it yourself and have change. I know I am not telling you anything you don't already know, and that its nice to support local businesses, but for me, more often than not, they just reinforce my feelings on the matter! LeeM Posted 17June, 2019 Report Share Posted 17June, 2019 Correct @edgy We rarely go out (homebodies that enjoy tv, doing nothing and our dog), and in these times of everything regularly going up in price, we kind of expect a lot more than this kind of service, especially when we're regulars and we don't have to tell them what we're ordering or how we want it cooked! Just poor form really

TINGY Posted 10July, 2019 Report Share Posted 10July, 2019 WTF is going on with then and than, everywhere i look lately it seems people are replacing "than" with "then", it makes it very hard to understand a sentence sometimes, or, are our standards slipping that much that some people can't string a simple sentence together. firstone, Troubleshooter, LeeM and 2 others 3 1

LeeM Posted 11July, 2019 Report Share Posted 11July, 2019 Whilst I'm here, I'll have a sook... I was unaware I had to possess a contractors license to work on any domestic building sites, so now the people I contract to are forcing us to get one. No worries, I'll look into it... What a @#$/ing rort! $1000-2000 just do the course and $250/year to keep a license, then the course providers say I also have to do a supervisors course to gain a contractors license because I work onsite on my own and am my own supervisor. What the? The modules include profit and loss, quoting, point of sale and site management etc which has nothing to do with my job description, plus I have to provide proof of my abilities to install robes and basic shelving because I'm not a licensed cabinet maker (who also have to do the courses being a sole trader) yet I've been doing it for 14 years retail and builders work. For what I do on new homes, I earn shit money as it is (the good part of new builds is that I don't have to deal with clients in my ear all the time), plus lots of driving, pay for all my consumables (screws, gap filler etc plus all my tools) then they drop this on us? Hilariously, I just got next weeks run sheet and I have one day of work to look forward to 😂 So there's probably $1200 I won't get next week to pay for a course! 😖 I'm 53 and reasonably fit (kinda), yet carrying 9-10 heavy 2700 long x 1200 wide mirrors up and down stairs most days has taken its toll, and this job is just not worth the headaches or the money when I have to deal with the idiot supervisor I have to talk to most days, as he's never installed yet tries to tell me how to do my job when he has cost the company thousands of dollars with his incessant mistakes (every fkn day!), yet as he's the bosses best mate, he's a protected species. I have an informal interview later today (beers in a pub 👍) to do something completely different as an employee, not a contractor, so fingers crossed that works out.
