550Spyder Posted 22April, 2014 Report Share Posted 22April, 2014 I got pulled over today for a speeding ticket, whilst waiting for the police officer to process the ticket I noticed about 5 or 6 tickets spitting out of his machine, then he was on his phone, then more tickets ?!? I am thinking wtf maybe his machine is playing up and it's my lucky day..... Nope. So the officer finally returns to my vehicle with a fist full of tickets and asks "are you aware of the registration status of this vehicle ?" To which I replied "huh?".. He then informs me that my rego expired a month ago! "WHAT? How is that possible" I say, "I always pay my bills on time" Anyway he leaves me with the fines and informs me that I must call and get the car registered before moving it. So I called the local roads authority to find out what's going on. They inform me that my address has a block on it...? Now I am really confused and ask what that means. They inform me that the last correspondence had been returned to sender, so the system halts all mail to the address. I inform her I have lived at this address for over 8years, surely there's some mistake. I asked what the correspondence was, after a pause she informs me it was my renewal papers for registration.... DUH! A couple of years ago Canberra went sticker less for rego, so how was I supposed to know my vehicle was unregistered? Hmmmmmmmmmm... Vent over It just looks as if that impossibly beautiful backdate is just plain old more trouble than its worth......expensive fines, trouble with the heat....... Did you need me to pop over and help you out with that carsales advertisement?
OZ930 Posted 22April, 2014 Report Share Posted 22April, 2014 ….the whole reason for going sticker less, revenue !! They will catch a lot more with this system. I have put all my expiry dates in my phone with an alarm set a month in advance

Did you need me to pop over and help you out with that carsales advertisement? lol..Thanks for the offer 550spyder… I was in my daily driver (M3).. also, no trouble with heat? actually it works beautifully essential for those cold Canberra SMTs. Only issue is an induction side air leak which is causing some backfiring at the moment. I have the correct gasket kit en route as we speak.. should be good to go in no time at all.. Pauly Posted 23April, 2014 Report Share Posted 23April, 2014 Okay here we go Yesterday i called up Bursons. I called up, hi i have a 1986 944 turbo and i need the following: Fuel Filter oil pressure sensor collant alternator belt sparkplugs specifically bpr7es Today, Delivery day. Slightly excited (who isn't excited for parts!) I received: my belt. an oil pressure switch.. The wrong one ( i need a sensor with 2 prongs not one) coolant, green. Porsche uses red! doesn't even recommend porsche on the bottle.. oh sorry no fuel filter hey look the sparkplugs are correct. yay. The only things are important to me are the plugs, filter and Oil pressure sensor. Was just on the phone to them, the helpfull lady is now on it looking for the correct oil pressure sensor. I asked about the filter. She says the other store (down the road) has one!!!

reax Posted 4May, 2014 Report Share Posted 4May, 2014 Le Sigh.. So new out door setting delivered .. Table is scratched and 4 of the chairs have damage to them... apparently is is my responsibility to get them back to the store even though I paid a delivery fee. For those interested, S2DIO outdoor setting from the outdoor specialists, so not exactly cheap.. well for me.. I have just asked for my money back as i will still be out $200 in transport costs and they want to spek to me before anything is finalised. Something I currently don't have time for. Niko Posted 5May, 2014 Report Share Posted 5May, 2014 YOU KNOW WHAT I REALLY HATE?????? Seeing as there is a bit of number plate talk in the forum lately.. I hate it when people leave the crappy plastic number plate surrounds on their new/used car that the dealer so "generously" gives them when they buy the car. Nothing to do with free advertising. Much... But they are crap quality anyway, rip them off as soon as you drive out or ask the dealer if he is going to give you any compensation or deal for having thier advertising frames on the car. If they are going to do something for you ie discount on servicing or something, well and good keep them on. Same as stickers advertising where you bought your car from. If nothing in it for you, rip them off. Plus I think all cars should have the good perspex number plate protectors on their plates, just finishes off a car, IMHO. Workshops are a bit different I think, if your happy with the work they do on your car, let others know it. Any thoughts?????? Am I being a bit grumpy old mannish? I took a sticker off once and took it back in to ask what it was worth to advertise for them………they explained that they understood but policy was that no car is allowed to leave the workshop without a sticker. Wasn't worth the aggro……just go around the corner and remove it. Same would go for those crappy plate surrounds.
Harvs11 Posted 6May, 2014 Report Share Posted 6May, 2014 Yes Niko, you're a grumpy old man!! Not that there's anything wrong with that. I must be a GOM too as I couldn't agree more. Car yard stickers on the back window are an eyesore. First thing I do is rip them off any car of mine. An exception to this rule was when 9Plus fitted number plate covers on my 911 after they serviced it. They put a discreet sticker on the bottom edge. I was happy with the service and it did tidy up and protect the new plates so the sticker stayed.

Niko Posted 6May, 2014 Report Share Posted 6May, 2014 I think many years ago I was also told that (I know your gonna laugh but..) if you removed the sticker from your new car, your warranty was void. Now I am talking way back in the Make love not war era. Don't think they could get away with that one now, some how.

OZ930 Posted 6May, 2014 Report Share Posted 6May, 2014 Why are road signs so reflective (including road work signs) ? Ok in the city, but try driving on country roads using high beam, tends to negate the light and blind yourself.

Niko I had left the sticker on a new car I bought for over 12months for exactly the same reason! I don't know where I got the idea from but I was too young and naive to question it... Doh.
