Airhead Posted 14July, 2014 Report Share Posted 14July, 2014 I heard that a couple were made that way. You were lucky to get both of them. Harvs11 and clutch-monkey
T-Man Posted 14July, 2014 Report Share Posted 14July, 2014 Try some English stuff. Then you'll learn how to curse proper. My brother in law has been rebuilding a Spitfire MK3 and has spent about $4K with Rimmer Bros. I reckon that's about $50K in Porscheland. Harvs11 Posted 14July, 2014 Report Share Posted 14July, 2014 4 year old Bimmer in for first service since 3 year warranty expired. BMW service reported an oil leak which is a common fault with this particular engine type. In other parts of the world this fault was fixed for free as part of a recall. Asking price for the repair. $575. I told them to jamb it. Fixed it myself for about $80 parts and 2 hours in the garage Peter M, clutch-monkey, firstone and 1 other
Niko Posted 14July, 2014 Report Share Posted 14July, 2014 I once had a 320 Beemer, I quickly found out what BMW stood for.... Big Money Waster....swore as much as I loved that car I would never own another one. P.s. I actually had the BEEMER personalized plates on it, so when I eventually bit the bullet and sold it I didn't feel so guilty for the new owner. Hopefully he made some money on the plates to cover his heartache.

Harvs11 Posted 19July, 2014 Report Share Posted 19July, 2014 My ratchet torque wrench which I use for non-critical stuff gave up today-it's only 3 years old. So much for saving a few dollars on a cheaper tool.

Dreamr Posted 19July, 2014 Report Share Posted 19July, 2014 Threw in $107 of fuel today. :-\ I hear you.... The first time I filled up the P car, it was just over $100.... I nearly fell over backwards and started looking for the hole in the tank... Still can't believe it manages to hold so much fuel..... or is it that petrol is too expensive? Whatever! Still can't believe it either way.... Now I fill it after every outing to try and ease the pain....
