Not sure if this has been discussed, but what's the consensus on value on this longhood?

Good lookin, I guess its a hotrod. its a bitsa, not backdated. Dirty import , converted , with what level of originality..   What words do you use..

Worth the same as other hotrods/heinz 57 cars ,  I guess , whatever that number is.

If you wanna go fast , you probably wanna go faster, if you wanna good chassis , and old car aint the best option , the 915 is probably better than the original box..

It has the elephant racing gear but is it an elephant in the weight arena

You gotta say it is loved. Looks good!!

This discussion probably is a can of worms , should a hotrod , be track capable , that defines hot , in my book yes! .  Should it be a sleeper and have some street sleeper grunt and blow someone away on the traffic light chase yes.

Im not sure im helping .. maybe I will cause conversation .. Its been around for a while .. a lefty 911T sat at 98k for 6 months .. maybe its a 90K car as it isnt easily returned to its original market or europe.    Maybe you wouldnt care about a cost  recovery if you had a great time with it , it looks like a fun ownership proposition or maybe if you wanna play safe money its a 70k  car and may I be damned for all eternity as Im sure someone on here owns it!!

Question really is what will make you cross the road and grab a deposit from the ATM and what value is it to you ;)

I remember looking for my first 911 in the early 2000's and this was sitting on Unique Cars Magazine for a while, looking exactly as it does now.

It won't be heavy, being an early car and early car can have 130hp and be a hotrod.( you can take any car on the track). This car would be $45k max in the US, then again, SC's are as well.

Usually I would say the market decides, however there's a been a lot of fools paying way too much for ordinary cars in this country.

Don't really follow the long hood market, however this car has a certain appeal to me. Difficult to value though as it will require the right buyer for the identity crisis reasons symsy mentioned. The challenge this car has is that the $100k + market gets very crowded. Would you buy this over an Aussie delivered 993, 964, 996 turbo, 997? Would be interesting to take it for a drive and see how it feels, might be a cheap way to experience old school 911 fun ... and it looks the part which is always nice.

I've got my eyes on a 964. If all goes well this weekend it will have a new home.

I'll be listing my 3.2 if anyone is interested. '88 model Venetians blue with 166kms. 3 owners with upto date books. Just serviced too and happy to include the RWC in the price. $100k firm.

Havent had it for long. Impulse bought it because it was a very tidy car. I just prefer a 964.

$130-140k for an SC! That would have to be a record. Has an SC ever sold for that much?

Was just thinking today that maybe a 986 boxster might be a fun stop gap before my next 911. Think there was a manual one for sale near me for $15k ... hard to go wrong really.

Has had the IMS done... go drive it through some twisties and you'll find it hard not to want it.

Ok Trev, well here's my next track demon, arrived today, rwc tomorrow, then rego next week - then the fun starts ... first up pumping the guards out to the max I can achieve, then stripping out all unnecessary weight is next, then etc etc etc. I bought one a year back to do the same but was such a peach that I just did steelies and exhaust and plastered it with go fast stickers to look the part and that's my QLD daily

or should I throw another $4k at the situation and get an S?

https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-Boxster-1999/SSE-AD-5008347/?Cr=17

From Motors 2002 PCOTY: (while talking about a 996)

"For all that, however, apart from raw speed there isn't a lot the 911 Carrera will do that a Boxster S won't, and that's a car of which the PCOTY crew has some very fond memories."

An S under $20K is great B4YB!  Was Motor Magazine Performance Car Of The Year, in Speed Yellow too... now a Bang For Your Buck contender!

This armchair Boxster shopping is fun .. and so many cars to choose from!

Buyers market. Not like to trying to wrestle a rusted out aircooled 911 out of someones barn who because Singer thinks it's worth more than a briefcase full of bitcoins!

Probably my favourite car on the market. When you consider the prices of an Oz delivered 70, this is a good price in my opinion. I prefer that type of car over a mint original, as it's one you can just drive and not worry about getting some stone chips etc that might affect it's value (if you're worried about that sorta thing)

What's it worth? Tough question, and one that a buyer could only answer really. If I had the coin, I'd be happy to pay $100k or maybe a bit more, as it's a real longhood and my kind of car, but that's me
