In your infinite wisdom what did Porsche call this model for all other markets, and what's wrong with 'Super Sport' & why is it "nutty UK market vocabulary"?

Some facts would be nice.

It had no name in other markets, it was an option usually listed as 'turbo look'.

Car dealers in the UK feel the need to stratify everything down to the lowest level.  They routinely make up models where other markets just had options you could order.   A 911 'sport' was one with an optional tail package.   A 944 'SE' model was invented in the UK for cars with sports suspension. Also common with BMWs - instead of just 530, 540 etc they would make up 530 SE and so on. It probably comes from the tendency for down market cars to have an infinite number of trim levels to give endless positioning.  Things like the Escort had about 5 different models at once.

As for 'Super Sport' - well it just doesn't sound very Porsche like.  Rennsport = yes.  Clubsport = yes. Super Sport?

New 981 Boxster listing at Duttons - seems very, very well priced for an S, particularly with Sports Chrono, PASM, flappy paddle wheel etc.  No Duttons tax applied to this one???

Can't understand this I guess - these later cars are probably some of the most driveable and "daily" friendly cars Porsche have produced.  Having said that, the 2013 981 we did buy (for equivalent of less than this advertised price) did only have 22000kms.  I guess then that the prices might be comparable - PASM & "S" probably worth + $8-$10k, mileage probably - $5k....

We'll still be doing 10-12000kms pa, so when the lease is up in 3 years ours will be a 55-60000kms car which for an 8 year old car, will still be pretty low

You should hear that thing! So responsive from idle and the bark that comes out of the muffler is one of life's pleasures. Pretty well sorted too I believe, yet it's also very track focussed. I offered them a straight swap for my car last week, but it doesn't have SA rego (did have Vic rego) and I'm not keen to try and take it over the pits here.

Looks like a fun car. Though they must have missed the memo from @symsy about prices dropping. Pretty sure I saw this listed for sale earlier in the year on one of the Porsche club pages for 60K...

Which direction do you feel the markets going ?  Up like the housing market ? :)

Clearance rates last week in Melbourne and Sydney were 47% and 41% respectively. Looks like a well sorted car, but for a converted 911 I would try to knock off at least 10K when giving the tyres a kick... ;)

I think you would be very hard pushed to get a bit of kit like that for that money , unless its really had to get rego in the non nanny states like SA

Market up or market down for me is a measure of what they are selling for against recent times or recollection  ? No clearance in cars  or houses means market stuck ;)

And have to do the backdate thing again? No thanks ? Too much work to get rego here mate. Would have to cut half the cage out, seats etc etc...

If anyone is serious about a track or Targa rally car, you couldn't build one for anywhere near the asking price. Sure it's a little rough around the edges, but it's a competition car and I saw over $30-40k worth of receipts for engine and box rebuilds. Go to my Instagram page @porscheshed as I posted a video last week of it (below) idling and a couple of revs. Sounds so crisp. Would need to paint those UGLY rims though

Sounds like a beast mate. I've never heard a more responsive engine when you blip the pedal. Think he said 300hp maybe? Get onto Carlo at Richmonds and tell him I sent ya. And for the record, I would only take the wing off and leave it as an impact bumper car (Ugh ?). You buy that, get SA rego approval and I'll do you a straight swap for mine

I saw it at Autocoupe a while back. I think it was getting inspected for a prospective buyer.

Looked tough. Stiff as suspension. Rough around the edges in a normal race car way. Would be a tough car to live with on the road. You’d need friends in the right places to rego with the cage.

Race car. Appeals to me for that purpose.

I know this car inside out, have worked on it back with the previous owner. Any questions ask.

What's the engine build/specs?  Carsales ad doesn't mention anything but it sounds fairly meaty.....
