Perhaps thee believes one can run out of words.

It may be true.

Its ironic that less than 5 years ago you could have picked up an equivalent 996 GT3 with less km (and less worry about bore scoring and IMS issues) for the same money …...

Or for boost junkies  not far off  a 996 gt2 and I note that 996 turbos in average condition were asking / getting more than gt3's.

5 years ago you could pick up virtually every Porsche from '77 to '97 for half what you pay now.

So what’s going on here, the price has been steadily dropping and no one’s biting

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F202569473331

Is now being sold by a different seller... previously being sold by a seller that sells car parts and instrument clusters with any odometer you want. Either dodgy or distancing himself from his core business. It does look good, if it were me I’d be getting it checked thoroughly

Yeah, I’d say about 40-45k.

Its probably not the car for an enthusiast, but a red automatic Cabrio would turn a lot of heads if you’re into that sort of thing.

Ultra cheap 944! Priced really really low and open to fair offers. I think that if he values his car that low, my fair offer will be 90 cents. Yep 90 cents, I'm only knocking him down 10% that's about fair I reckon:Chuckle2:

You would think for a $300k car, the dealer would put more description of the car and shouldn’t worry about paying few $$s to Carsales.com.au!!

To use your terms, to find a “mint” 2.7 that an owner is willing to part with, assuming he is market savvy I can’t see why he would sell it for under $100k.

The early G series narrow bodied cars are very hard to find in good condition let alone mint condition, but obviously I can only speak from my experience.

Here’s a nice 2.7 and well under the 100k bench mark. No idea what it’s like close up though

Tyre kickers, advice sought....

What are perceptions on current values and perceived future values between:

- 1981 911SC Targa in excellent condition, minor restoration work done

compared to

- 996 turbo manual low k's, good condition

Pricing seems comparable, where do peoples crystal balls see these two items heading?

I'm obviously not in it to make a $ but do like to know that I purchased well.  As in buying a 991 Carrera S 2 years ago would leave me feeling like I did my dough unnecessarily as they seem to be depreciating hard.

Your idea of "mint" and mine don't seem to be in the same hemisphere, and to make the reference even less relevant its a Targa???
