Now we're talkin'. That thing looks good. But bloody WA! Do you reckon he'd drop it over for a test drive........I reckon that could be a perfect 911 entree if its as good as it looks.

 

WA = No problems. I have a good specialist who could do a PPI and advise. Then you just whack it on the train via CEVA logistics.

 

The worlds a small place now!

This one hasn't been complied, and seems to have no history.  Who brings in a 930 then doesn't finish the compliance? Most importers do it as an all in one service, so this has a bad smell about it to me.

Was on market - not any more!  I jumped on this one, really liked the look of it.  Negotiated and agreed price with owner.  I've booked PPI at KTEC and subject to outcome of that, i'll buy it.  Details are:

 

- South Africa delivery (Johannesburg I'm told is dry so not salty/rusty issues)

- typical 964 issues - distributor vent, flywheel, lack of head gasket have all been resolved

- no oil leaks

- 964 RS bits plus original bits are supplied

- 996 GT3 front brakes fitted, rears supplied

- FSH with most receipts from new

- 4 owners - current owner 7 years including 4 in S.A. before shipping to Perth

- mods done by current owner in SA - he has several Porsches and owned workshop in S.A., seems to know his stuff

- KTEC know the car, reckon its genuine and clean but will do full inspection/compression test

- everything works including A/C

- new clutch 4 years ago

- genuine 130kms

- no track work (claimed!) - says he doesn't like stone chips, wanted to keep the car schmick

- K&N filter and carbon bits as per ad

- no work required (claimed!)

 

Sounds like a genuine guy that knows Porsches.  KTEC reckon its good and a good buy at the price.  Will do PPI and send a heap of photos.  I assume they'll pick up prang/repair job.  If that's all OK, i guess i better fly over and make sure it drives as i expect and looks as good in the flesh as the photos.

 

I've been busy Googling for 964 info last night so i have asked as much as I have gleaned on line.  Any other suggestions on key things to ask/look for?  I assume the S.A delivery is not a big issue?  Presumably i'll need a RWC back in Melbourne to change ownership and register here?  I assume KTEC is the choice in Perth - from what i saw online.

 

Now to numberplates.......R964S is available

Do it! Looks like a great example. Well written add also, which to me is a sign that someone with some smarts and care owns the car. Good price too for a C2, which don't come up that often.

As I said earlier, this looks like a great car - well done for getting onto it. I am disappointed and jealous...........lucky you live close by and we can hopefully go for a spin together! :)

OK, final post from me here, i'll jump over to Ownership and Enthusiasm now i have bitten the bullet.

 

Good news is I got onto a former work colleague now living back in Perth - his father in law has several race, Targa and street Porsches and has used KTEC for years,  They know Brendan at KTEC really well.  He's offered to get the inside word on the car from Brendan, let Brendan know i'm the real deal not some time waster and go take it for a spin on my behalf.  I reckon that will save me a trip over as i wouldn't know 10% of what they know.  Happy days.  Fingers crossed it's good.
