TINGY Posted 7October, 2013 Report Share Posted 7October, 2013 Hi all, I have a broken header pipe where it joins the flange on No.3 cylinder. Do I repair this or buy a new one and/or do I upgrade the headers while i'm buying the new one. Everything I am reading tells me not to bother because there are no real performance gains to be made on a N/A 1986 944. Anyone done this and gained a few herbs or do I just buy the stock header, or has anyone have one they want to sell. Opinions will be helpful, thankyou. Buchanan Automotive Posted 7October, 2013 Report Share Posted 7October, 2013 On the NA 944 2.5L 86> , the headers are easily removed & welding of the old age stress / heat cycle cracks usually works fine , depending on the exact location of the crack . TINGY Posted 7October, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 7October, 2013 It's broken where the pipe goes into the flange, by the look of it the flanges may be cast?
