Thunder Kiss Posted 12January, 2014 Report Share Posted 12January, 2014 Hi, I've been looking for a 911 for a while. I've seen a 1969 car I like, but can anyone decode the VIN and engine numbers please? I have been told it has the correct (but not original) engine. Thunder Kiss Posted 12January, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 12January, 2014 Excellent, thanks guys. So, if this car was "matching numbers" would the consecutive engine number have to be the same as the serial number?
npvpositive Posted 14January, 2014 Report Share Posted 14January, 2014 Excellent, thanks guys. So, if this car was "matching numbers" would the consecutive engine number have to be the same as the serial number? No, they don't match up that way. Porsche Australia can tell you what the correct engine number would have been for that chassis.

Alex69T Posted 11February, 2014 Report Share Posted 11February, 2014 Yes, that's the one. If any of you have photos of the car before I bought it, I'd love to see them. ( akvette @ homail . com ) Here's an interior shot taken by Mark. The car came with its original seats as well but I like the BF Torino seats, so I'll leave them in. I like the original steering wheel but I have a vintage 370mm Prototipo on its way, I think it should go well with the sports seats.

Alex69T Posted 23February, 2014 Report Share Posted 23February, 2014 Thank for the kind words, I've been driving the hell out of the car since buying it. The existing motor was rebuilt around 2 years ago by Spencer Harrison. Murf, I'm going to keep the original seats. I may even make a base for them and set them up in the garage. LeeM Posted 7March, 2014 Report Share Posted 7March, 2014 I'd say JNR356 had a hand in building that engine. Nice car mate. Like the Torino seats too
