Russ Posted 15February, 2014 Report Share Posted 15February, 2014 so I'm figuring after so long all my bushes are shot I know I need sway bar bushes, and a tie rod end - Does anyone know where I can find out part numbers of all the bits I need to redo the whole lot of suspension bushes so I can buy them online? I've tried searching AutoAtlanta and FCP Euro and they seem to have some bits and pieces but not everything I need. Thanks!
tazzieman Posted 15February, 2014 Report Share Posted 15February, 2014 Find the part# from autoatlanta or similar and type it into Pelican search. Are you doing A arm bushes too? All my bushes came ex pelican , incl the ER ones for the A arms. The Oz dollar was very favourable at the time. Of course you could ring someone in Oz too. Russ Posted 19February, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 19February, 2014 totally forgot PET too (which is online at the Porsche classic site) - it's been great to get part numbers I think i'm up to about $1000 in bits though
Greg944 Posted 20February, 2014 Report Share Posted 20February, 2014 I recently fitted my 944 with a full set of Elephant Racing sport hardness bushes. Very happy with the results Greg
Tit Posted 20February, 2014 Report Share Posted 20February, 2014 I've got some elephant racing gear in the mail as we speak. What about http://www.tarett.com/items/911-products/911-suspension/list.htm ? They're good enough for Magnus...
Greg944 Posted 20February, 2014 Report Share Posted 20February, 2014 A question you have to ask is: what is the car used for? Road, fast road, race? Moving from rubber, harder rubber to urethane to mono balls. I stuck with rubber, albeit the harder compound for two reasons; car is predominantly street driven and roads are not great, and secondly the Tarmac rally rules specifically rule out mono ball bushes and I don't like the idea of squeaking urethane. Russ Posted 7July, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 7July, 2014 this is back on the radar (in fact I'm putting together a cart now) It's only for road driving, I don't think i'll ever put it on the track. and as it's a targa I don't really want to stress the floor more so i'm going to stick with rubber (apart from the torsion bar end rubber which apparently wears really quick if it's not urathane)
SteamWolf Posted 7July, 2014 Report Share Posted 7July, 2014 I was drooling over the complete front end from rennline for $1800USD
Russ Posted 7July, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 7July, 2014 those RSR rear swaybars look great too I think i'll just stick with stock rubber though lol there is an A arm set on gumtree at the moment, so tempted to buy it put the bushes in then swap the complete unit over in one go and sell mine.. Quozl Posted 7July, 2014 Report Share Posted 7July, 2014 Don't think mine are Elephant, have to check with Michael what brand he used but they are poly bronze. Also have put in those RSR swaybars, rear and through the body front, mine are identical but custom made. Cheers Al
911oclock Posted 7October, 2014 Report Share Posted 7October, 2014 Hey Russ, did you end up ordering your undercarriage bits? I have noticed some new clunks and squeaks coming from beneath so I should start putting my own cart together.

Russ Posted 2March, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 2March, 2015 so, a year later I'm actually going to do this. some questions: I've got neoprene sway bar bushes currently (but they're crumbling) with rubber ones to go in - should I go rubber or neoprene? With the spring plate bushes I've been told not to go with rubber cause they don't last long enough. I see Pelican offer Poly-Graphite or Rubber, has anyone used the Poly Graphite ones? (they say they're loud, I assume they're quieter than the torsion bars bashing about) Are their any tricks to keeping water out of the front torsion bars? or should I just load them up with grease and replace the seals and assume I'll be doing it again in the future? (if i throw rust converter in there I assume it'll clean up okay) Thanks in advance
