76 C3.0 Posted 7March, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 7March, 2014 I inspected the car this morning. Spent about 90 minutes talking to the owner. It's a great car. I reckon it needs about 5k spent on it and about a week of time getting it back on the road. It's pretty much original. Deck lid is a later one. He threw the old one away as it was too rough and ready. Old seats were thrown away aswell. New exhaust was fabricated in 92. Paint still needs final buff. Wheels are gen. Fuchs from 75 Seats are from 75 Every replacement part is genuine porsche. Quiet a few spares. He is in no rush to sell but will sell to the right offer. Told me I can have a year to come up with the $. I will be consulting the minister of finance in this one and presenting my gant charts and profit and loss statements. 9er will post pics soon. michel Posted 7March, 2014 Report Share Posted 7March, 2014 interesting...pics will tell some of the story. who did the resto? were there receipts and pics and other info in the resto file? engine rebuild/gearbox rebuild? Any idea why the owner did the work then pushed it into the shed? So are you passing on the car and providing the contact details, or wanting assitance in evaluating price/condition? we all like a found in the shed story cheers Michel

76 C3.0 Posted 7March, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 7March, 2014 Sorry about the upside down photos. It was pretty much 1hr of solid talking about the car with me slipping in photo opportunities whenever possible. A few of his expenses: 4x NOS light clusters @$450ea. 2x NOS sun visors @ $200ea. 1x NOS rear vision mirror @ $350. Interior in full leather $6,
D-banger Posted 7March, 2014 Report Share Posted 7March, 2014 Any signs of rust? As michel says: Receipts? History file?
76 C3.0 Posted 7March, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 7March, 2014 Did not see any rust at all. Body was very straight and smooth. I think he has resto photos somewhere. Anyone living in Canberra may have seen it in about 2010. That's when he trailered it up to Brisbane.
hugh Posted 7March, 2014 Report Share Posted 7March, 2014 shame to have wasted 6k on the leather trim............
76 C3.0 Posted 7March, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 7March, 2014 Yeah, the leather is a bit fancy but boy did those seats feel comfortable. Super soft leather. I think it also includes the carpet which was new in 92.
michel Posted 7March, 2014 Report Share Posted 7March, 2014 We all love a found in the shed story...more so that it was languishing in Canberra up to a couple years ago. Real early car but not painted dash Wrong steering wheel but if in great cond sell for 250-300 and buy proper wheel for 600+ NOS lights etc cool as almost unobtainable and exxy Seats naff, tan leather Works. Door cards look great What are the auxiliary guages?
murf Posted 8March, 2014 Report Share Posted 8March, 2014 No painted dash 65 build or 66? What's the build number? What was his number $$$ Murf
76 C3.0 Posted 9March, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 9March, 2014 I'm not sure what the deal is with the dash. He had it trimmed in very soft black leather. Also mentioned that the VIN was hand written on the dash. The gauges: The right one is a clock & the left is oil pressure.
