After a bit of a discussion amongst a few people we've decided to try something different and run Coffee & Cars on a Saturday Morning

Starting from 7:30am and running until sometime throughout the day where we all get sick of talking

At Colmslie Beach Reserve which has seating and some shade plus plenty of car parks (in the middle of the map below)

If you're planning on coming PLEASE RSVP in this thread (as once we get a decent amount of RSVP's I'm going to ring a coffee van and get them to come along)

If this is a success it'll hopefully be a regular thing, and we'll alternate from Southside/Northside to get everyone included

Any questions post here or flick me a PM

Yep In

Are you going to invite other Euro / Classic marques?

I'm unsure at this stage, going to cross post to Pelican, Early 911 and Impact Bumpers though

Typ901 are planning one in Ashgrove or Ashmore (forget which one) on the GC.

yeah at a guys shop I think, do they let other cars come or is it longhoods only?

Russ

I should be there-until you mentioned it yesterday I had missed seeing it on the forum.

Might be worth sending it to Scott's "air cooled run" email list?

I'm going to ask the coffee shop near my work if they're interested in opening a Saturday, there's tables/chairs and they have a coffee machine and it's 2 mins further down Lytton road.

so this is this Saturday - I'm in discussions with the local takeaway/coffee shop that is a few blocks away (that has a car park and seating etc. - although with views of a "creek")

Anyone else want to come along? I'm going to have a further chat to the local place as an option - he's not normally open on a Saturday so would be opening especially for us..

I might be out of it, had an interesting experience again the other night, where my brake caliper decided to eat my wheel. Will need to sort this out properly before I can regain confidence in the car.

Such a shame... was looking forward to a yummy coffee and cruise :'(

Nah, still the replica fuchs that Ive always had on.
However this had to do with the 993 Turbo Calipers fitted to the car. The bolt that secured the adapter bracket decided it didnt want to be apart of the car anymore and as a result, my caliper pushed itself into the wheel. I have some nice shavings from it now though...

find a new longer threaded high tensile bolt, Loctite and drive!

how much did it take off the inside of your wheel?

Thats what I did Russ :/ So have to try and think something else...
Well get there though, but dont see me getting to any hardware/parts store within the week, sigh.

Ahhh took out about 2mm in a circular groove. Im going to head over to Don and see what he thinks, Im prepared to buy a new wheel, but only if I actually have to.

Hey Russ,

Don't go to too much trouble with the local coffee dude, mate.  I'm sure we can all pick up a coffee from somewhere on the way.

Yeah, I think it's going to be BYO coffee and cars!

Most vans need $275 upfront or a minimum of 50 cups of coffee purchased on the day.

See you all there!
