Niko Posted 1May, 2014 Report Share Posted 1May, 2014 Ladies and Gents, a meeting was held recently between the previous organisers of the last two ACT SMT's. (Tman, Chris993 and myself) It has been decided to have the event again in 2015, with a few changes. The dates will be from Thursday the 19th of March to Sunday the 22nd of March 2015 The route that we used this year (thanks to Tman) will be used again. The stops along the way for food will change. The members that put their hands up and went last year (8 cars) will have first preference to go again should they wish to do so. This tradition will carry on for the future events. This time we will try and take up to 12 cars with us (passengers welcome) We feel 12 is a manageable amount of cars and also for safety. Plus parking at the accomodation is limited, and there may also be more attendees from the "LAND OF THE CAVEMAN" There will be a deposit to the amount of the first nights accomodation in Bright to confirm your commitment. Probably around $120.00. That money once paid is not refundable. As the rooms will be booked on your commitment. If you do decide to pull out then,... if someone steps up to take your place, then that person will repay your deposit. We are hoping to have a standby list. (HOWEVER, if certain circumstances exist your deposit will be refunded.) I will be asking for that deposit around October. If we get more than 4 people wanting to come this year, we will draw the names out of a hat at a coffee catch up. The unlucky ones who are not in the first four will go on a standby list in the order of being drawn out. This post is to forewarn everyone that on Friday the 16th we will be asking for attendees. Do not commit now, your commitment will not be accepted......... I WILL POST UP ON FRIDAY THE 16TH OF MAY, ASKING FOR YOU TO PUT YOUR HAND UP THEN....NOT BEFORE So check with your better halves, check with work (as best you can) have a think about it over the next week or two. Please be 99% sure that you can attend before putting your name down. If you have any questions please ask before Friday the 16th May Then watch this space on Friday the 16th, and if your interested and can attend put your name down. The entire crew who attended last year have already committed, so that is testimony to how much fun it is.
Niko Posted 1May, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 1May, 2014 Post above amended a bit, as to the date of asking for attendees..... it was a bit ambiguous. Sorry about that. Friday the 16th of May is the day.

D-banger Posted 16May, 2014 Report Share Posted 16May, 2014 Does that make one spot left, or are we full?
Niko Posted 16May, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 16May, 2014 Does that make one spot left, or are we full? That looks like it, but give it to the end of the day to see if anyone else wants in before I close it off. I did say this was the day, but to be fair some members may not access their computers etc till later today. Also depending on what Michel comes back with, but if he is in Melb and wants to come along with us that is looking pretty close. Thanks Harvs, (good to have you back for a re run) Bayf and Doug. Niko Posted 17May, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 17May, 2014 Looks like Michel and some of the ACT members may join us on our run into Canberra on Day 2, and that would be great. So Nick ...that makes you number 12 and more importantly IN. The question then remains......are you going to bring a real car or the 911. Only joshin.........before I get justifiably ripped apart. michel Posted 6June, 2014 Report Share Posted 6June, 2014 gents can i throw in a small curve ball? there is interest off some of the other purer forums ;0 to attend the gathering of the kollektiv and friends of the kollektiv. As the last run was so well attended over the weekend - is there any objections to have more people/cars attend whether they be from Melb -Syd- Narrandera and places in between? I understand and appreciate there are limits on your posse exiting from Melb. I also appreciate the core motivation for the trip. However is there any reason others cannot independently organise a similar itinerary??? could this be a defacto nationals without been so... Niko Posted 6June, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 6June, 2014 Hi Michel, I am catching up with a couple of fellow ACT run organisers in the next day or two, let me have a chat with them. If they are organising their own runs into the ACT, I personally can't see a problem. The more the merrier. Our PFA runs from Melbourne and Sydney abide by our SMT guidelines, but that obviously does not apply to non PFA forum members organising their own runs. We meet with some of the other Porsche owners from Canberra as you know, and I don't think all of them are on our forum, it is just a "turn up in your Porsche" criteria for the photo shoot, maybe a run around the city and dinner and cool refreshers at night. However logistics wise, our (PFA MEMBERS) accommodation is thankfully organised by Danesh, which includes, limited secure car parking at our place of stay for the two nights, and we are also looked after, on the price of our stay. Depending on where the P people you are referring to want to stay. Do you have any more details as to how many etc might be coming to town? And just for your info..... We keep all our info re the routes and accommodation, off the general view of the Forum and use only PM's or personal email address's when discussing those details. But as I said, I personally have no problem with more people in Porsches joining the festivities. I think it would be good. Let me have a chat to Tman and Chris and I will get back to you. Cheers, Niko
