Simonoz Posted 7May, 2014 Report Share Posted 7May, 2014 Anyone got any idea as to why the entries are so poor this year? No quick 911's other than Ireland and Patterson. Entries down in every class. Is something other than the economy having an influence? I did hear that ownership of the event has changed recently?
baso Posted 7May, 2014 Report Share Posted 7May, 2014 I was also looking through the list last night and wondering why such a small turn out. Did I also noticed that Jim Richards is in a Cayman this year? Surely he would still be able to run with the front running pack. It would be nice to see him try to take it on in a GT2 again. 9fan Posted 9May, 2014 Report Share Posted 9May, 2014 Plus a GT2 in the wet on Targa roads? If Jim is at the wheel - No problem !
tazzieman Posted 10May, 2014 Report Share Posted 10May, 2014 Plus a GT2 in the wet on Targa roads? If Jim is at the wheel - No problem ! Even the Cayman struggled today http://targa.com.au/tc/news_details.asp?asset_id=20228 One good thing about old 911s..they don't leak water when they crash Where is Rex B ATM? 9fan Posted 10May, 2014 Report Share Posted 10May, 2014 It wasn't a CRASH, just a radiator leak ! - still great finish records.
Simonoz Posted 10May, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 10May, 2014 I think Rex B is still repairing the yellow RS after the crash last year. Two offs in two years for Jim R. Notice he's already pining for more horsepower, doesn't sound like he's too enamoured with the hardtop Boxster.

Notice he's already pining for more horsepower, doesn't sound like he's too enamoured with the hardtop Boxster. " I watched the highlights of the Targa on Saturday and and Jim R ( pre radiator rupturing recon of the road verge) was interviewed saying the Cayman S was the best car he has ever competed in the Targa in (if my memory serves me correctly, but that is often not the case ). witho Posted 27May, 2014 Report Share Posted 27May, 2014 If my memory serves me correctly Jim actually said that the Cayman was the best car that he had driven in 22 starts in the event,
Simonoz Posted 29May, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 29May, 2014 Funny.he did say that in the interview you've mentioned, but I saw him somewhere else and he was looking for more oomph. Toeing the corporate line perhaps?
mhh Posted 29May, 2014 Report Share Posted 29May, 2014 As a factory driver, Jim drives what he's given. He'd never driven a PDK Cayman until the week before Tassie,
