09ELF Posted 3July, 2014 Report Share Posted 3July, 2014 Hi guys, Anyone know if a full engeering report is required? Dont believe its a personal import, but am unsure how it got into the country. Getting mixed responses from RMS. Best case just a blue and green slips. Worst case full engineers report and green slip. Who has done it and which procedure did you do? regards, Dan
OZ930 Posted 3July, 2014 Report Share Posted 3July, 2014 When I moved back to NSW I had to get a blue slip for the rego, the green slip carried over. No engineering certificate required.

OZ930 Posted 3July, 2014 Report Share Posted 3July, 2014 It was previously registered in NSW, then in Vic, then back again. Not a personal import.

I think thats what helped.. it being previosly registered in NSW =( I checked, the car is not known to RMS. I wonder how they know if it even is import and not australian delivered. Im sure they havent got computers DB back in 1970's
Pauly Posted 3July, 2014 Report Share Posted 3July, 2014 If it's imported from overseas (grey import) It will have a compliance plate somewhere on the car. It just acts like a normal car once it's got the plate.

KBGr4 Posted 3July, 2014 Report Share Posted 3July, 2014 Does it have a DOTARS (Department of Transport and Regional Services) approval certificate, if so that's what the RMS will need to see as that was what allowed the car into Australia for general registration.
