Water Boy Posted 7August, 2014 Report Share Posted 7August, 2014 Can any of the Canberra crew confirm that GAD will be happening this year and the location. Porsche club of Canberra website seems to be down and I cant find any other information. By far one of the best shows I have attended! Thanks! Mike737 Posted 11August, 2014 Report Share Posted 11August, 2014 Do you need to be part of a club to enter?
michel Posted 11August, 2014 Report Share Posted 11August, 2014 No - it's usually a good turnout, coincides with the merc gents concourse. Usually the local lads (kollektiv) put on a run beforehand
Carrera28 Posted 11August, 2014 Report Share Posted 11August, 2014 Do you need to be part of a club to enter? No, you don't have to be a club member to display your car. Concours participation is only for club members. Most of the $5 entry fee goes to charity, which is the ACT Prostate Cancer Support Group.

Tit Posted 20September, 2014 Report Share Posted 20September, 2014 Messaged. The guys usually stay in the mecure when they come down for ygr CBR cruise. Expect Canberra hotel rates to be high for a decent room. If you aren't price sensitive try 'hotel hotel', the realm or Burberry in Barton. Barton is very close to the event. A few of us will probably stroll over to floriade during the day too. Carrera28 Posted 20September, 2014 Report Share Posted 20September, 2014 Also, if anyone from Canberra know of any cheap motel accomodation please suggest some names and I can call them when I get there .... don't need anything expensive or flash, just a pillow for the night ..... Some cheaper options (with Floriade on accommodation is tighter then normal): Rydges Capital Hill - Not far from where the car show is, has secure underbuilding parking and is near Manuka which would be a nice place for dinner around $220 per night Comfort Inn Airport International - Around $140 a night, but not really near anything and off street but not secure parking Brassey of Canberra - Close to show venue In Barton with free off street but not secure parking and has a few restaurants nearby for dinner around$160 a night Griffin Hotel - In Manuka with lots of restaurants, secure car parking and around $160 a night QT Hotel - Across the lake from where the show is, secure underground parking ($12 per night), in New Acton with lots of restaurants etc at around $200 Canberra Avenue Villas - Not actually in Canberra - In Queanbeyan $95 a night, not really near anything in terms of restaurants about 15 minutes from show venue if you drive, off street but not secure parking
