EOI For Qlders to attend Phillip Island Historics?

Recommended Posts

OK right from the get go, I don't want to organise this, so CRANKY pants on straight away.

Is there any interest in a group of us heading down for the 2015 Historic's at PI.

http://www.vhrr.com/phillip_island.htm

In the past I have gone down with a non PORSCHE group of friends, it really is a top weekend

away.

The plan would be to fly down on Friday (you will be given a time you must be at Melbourne airport by)

Hire a car, drive to PI in time to catch Friday arve's racing.

Attend the racing Saturday/Sunday

Depart PI Monday morning, travel back to Melbourne airport.

The accommodation will be a cabin, all bed linen is supplied.

WAY before we go, you WILL be required to PAY your share of the

accommodation and car hire. THIS WILL BE NON REFUNDABLE if you pull out. Once the deposits are paid, that's it, your money is GONE.

So make sure you have swmbo permission and can get Friday-->Monday off work.

(Look this may seem harsh, but the guy that organises this for the other group has been left

out of pocket, as people pull out at the last minute, I'm sorry your dog/duck/ferret died the day

before we leave, but you are NOT getting your money back)

As mentioned I have done this trip quite a few times and the whole weekend usually costs less than

$500, including airfares, alcohol, car hire, scotch, accom, beers, Track entry, booze, food, whiskey.

There will be two rules -:

No drinking at the track (we are there for the racing).

Plenty of the drinking after hours.

There is lots of other things to sort out, but lets see if there is any interest.

As mentioned, I really don't want to be the responsible adult in all this, so if any one else wants to step

up, be my guest.

That is indeed good news, can you please check with your "contact" if its available for that weekend (its obviously a high demand weekend) and at what cost $$$$$. Also will you be joining us??

The Cabin sleeps six (kinda) 1X Double bed, 4 X bunks, 1 X couch/bed thingo. However the car only takes 5(squashy)

In the past we have found its cheaper to hire 2 X small cars, than 1X people mover. So ideally I think multiples of 4 (5 at most).

In other words we need 4(5) or 8(10) humans.

  • 2 months later...

To give some ideas of costs, here's last years-:

Virgin DJ 302

5am 8:20am $270.00

12/01/2014 EFTPOS Security Deposit-#84499 EFTPOS 2316 $0.00 -$150.00

6/03/2014 2 x GN LINEN SINGLE $2.55 $28.00

6/03/2014 2 x GN LINEN SINGLE $2.55 $28.00

7/03/2014 Standard 07-Mar-14 - 10-Mar-14 $55.09 $606.00

GST $60.19

It ended up costing $195 per person for car hire + accom, (I used Virgin miles for travel).

I have a client who has a rather large holiday house on the island, 2 min down the road from the track. I've just given him a call and asked if he would be interested in renting it out to a bunch of well mannered & mature Porsche owners :) for the weekend - he is going to discuss it with his minister of control and will let me know.............

Thought it was worth asking, you never know.
