Yep, the G63 is my daily driver. The GT3 steering makes up for the abysmal steering and road manners of the G63. While not great around corners the G63 is phenomenal off road and drinks fuel at a rate that makes your eyes water....

Nice one mate!

A friend of mine has a G55... Geez, I'd buy one just for that sound! I heard the next G Wagen might get IFS... ;)

your perfect garage kurt?

Yes indeed, although it will be a G350 when the times right.

Road trip has begun, this engine is beyond awesome !!80-image_77688700e6ac6d554c0f846475ff73e

My wife tells me it was Mexico in the west in West Wyalong today (the biggest town in the Bland shire) - assume that was not the purpose of the trip.

Agree with edgy - great to see it being used ….

Congratulations! Nice trip to break it in by the look of it. Seems you new GT3 guys like the big road trips to ease them in. Mhh's trip to Darwin and back will take some beating though, I reckon.

I can see the GT3 on a Nevco trailer, behind the G63, in your future. Doubt you'd even notice it was there.

It looks great in the rear view mirror too (although that wouldn't be the case on the track, Im sure)

Congrats on the gt3 , curious as to how it works re the engine number, does the new engine have the same number as the original or do they change the cars vin?

Yes - I know the answer - I picked up new GT3 yesterday that had engine replaced and they give you a certificate  with a new engine number and stating the KLMs at which point the engine was replaced My GT3 had done 1100 alms but new engine only 150klms so odometer remains unchanged with total combined Klms on it - make sense! Hope that answered the question.

Front cage is in. Porsche Motorsport in Germany confirmed that the front cage can't be installed without removing the rooflining. Looked into fitting a custom roof lining but decided against it, too much time and cost for just aesthetic value, I like the cup car look of the bare roof.

Next track outing in a couple of weeks to see if it stiffens up the chassis. Also added the passenger harness and swapped out the standard black seat belts for the red belts for when the harnesses aren't being used.

Hi Everyone I'm in Sydney with a new GT3 white Porsche - never owned a Porsche before so looking for a few casual drives with people with Porsches or other "nice" cars -

Was that yours at the burrows day today?

I called the workshop this morning, they had some spare capacity and I've been wanting to install the track exhaust for some time, so it was a quick drop off:

and the next thing my GT3 is on the hoist ready to shed some weight:

Started with removing the rear bar, those side mufflers are massive:

A few more pics of the side mufflers / heat sinks !!

Pic of the side mufflers and sharwerks bypass exhaust:

Side mufflers removed, cargraphics headers with high flow cat's visible:

Sharkwerks track / race exhaust installed, massive weight difference and no more giant heat sinks up against the rear wheels:

OH. MY. GOD.... THE NOISE !!!! It's just like a cup car now and to me this is how it should sound.

You hear everything (including all the car alarms going off as you drive down the street....) The only downside is at road speeds it's hard to find the RPM and gear that takes the edge off the noise. Trying to short shift up through the gears leaves you with a very low bass note and no pickup, staying in a lower gear keeps you in the sweet spot but leaves other drivers wondering why blood is suddenly flowing out of their ears.

Outside of normal traffic and when the road opens its obscene... Sweet Jesus the noise..... The noise is phenomenal. If you really hate your neighbours (and you want to sound like you're about to exit the pit lane at PI in a cup car every time you back out your driveway) than this is a must !!!
