edgy Posted 7January, 2015 Report Share Posted 7January, 2015 Stumbled on this 996 EV on RennList... Thought I'd share it here
Coastr Posted 7January, 2015 Report Share Posted 7January, 2015 That brings a new level to tail-heavy. It's one way to fix an ims bearing, that's for sure. Looks like a pretty neat job, I've seen some shocking home jobs.
Airhead Posted 7January, 2015 Report Share Posted 7January, 2015 Thought I'd share it here Yeah. Thanks for that. Think of the money invested. Think what kind of a hotrod 996 you could build for what you spent on the development. Know what I'd rather have.

I do enjoy seeing something different, would not do it myself....

Daz987 Posted 10January, 2015 Report Share Posted 10January, 2015 Hope he used only six batteries, so when they're flat, he's still got a flat six...

tomo Posted 11January, 2015 Report Share Posted 11January, 2015 Just checked it out, 100 amp hr batterys delivered 97.1 miles with 2% charge remaining on the first test. .Cost $40,000.00 plus car.

Think of all the go-fast bits you can buy for 40k. It takes all sorts I guess.
t888 Posted 15January, 2015 Report Share Posted 15January, 2015 True that $40k would buy a lot of go fast bits.. or a lot of petrol. But hey, if you buy a new 991 in Australia that will be your depreciation in the first two to three years.. or if you had a failed 996/997.1 engine rebuilt, you'd be more than half way towards $40k.
