Dreamr Posted 12January, 2015 Report Share Posted 12January, 2015 Hi All, I just received some information that I thought I would pass on to anyone that is interested ... Newcastle Foreshore is holding an "All Germany Day" on 7th Feb starting at 9am. There is a $10 fee to park your car for show and it all goes to charity ...... Sounds like a good excuse for a Saturday drive and an informal gathering ..... I'll put more details up as I find out more ..... Hope to see lots of you guys there ..... asgraham Posted 24January, 2015 Report Share Posted 24January, 2015 G'day guys, Depending on work commitments I will be attending and would like to meet up prior for breakfast etc also. Please keep me posted as I am keen to also tag along for your Valley drive (live in the valley so this would be something right up my alley). BJM Posted 27January, 2015 Report Share Posted 27January, 2015 I'm a maybe at this stage. If I can make & you guys are going for a drive first I'd tag along.
BJM Posted 2February, 2015 Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 Looking good to get up for this. I'm thinking off heading via Wollombi on the Great Northern Rd if anyone else from the Sydney area is heading up.
asgraham Posted 2February, 2015 Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 Has there been any decisions made as to a breakfast or meet up prior on Saturday morning? BJM, if you do decide to come via Wollombi, look me up as I live between Cessnock and the new Hunter Valley Highway, could meet up and travel to Newcastle together perhaps? SteveF Posted 2February, 2015 Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 I am thinking of going and meeting Ronny somewhere along the way so would be keen on driving up with you.
BJM Posted 2February, 2015 Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 Yep sounds good SteveF & asgraham. Just need to work out when we need/want to get to Newcastle & work backwards from there for timings & RVs etc. What are the rules for showing your car? Is there a time you have to be there by for regisation? Can you leave before the day is finished? The money goes to good cause so happy just to pay to park type thing. asgraham Posted 2February, 2015 Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 I spoke briefly to the MG Car Club representative and he was saying to show up between 8-9am, pay the $10 admin fee and you will then be directed to where the P Cars will be parked. Wasn't told of any rules as such and not sure of exit times. This will be my first event and I'm sure that seasoned members will know the drill better than myself. Am happy to call the MG club again and find out for sure, if no one can shed light on this. For reference, from my place it's approx. 45mins to the foreshore using the new highway. Wollombi to my place approx. 25mins all going well. Having never travelled the putty, I have no idea as to how long it would take from Sydney. Peter M Posted 2February, 2015 Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 Adrian, You've been talking to the MB Car Club representative rather than the MG one haven't you? I'd just be a little sceptical of anything an MG owner said about an all German day. Just saying....
Dreamr Posted 2February, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 I'm happy to meet anyone coming from Sydney way at the Ourimbah interchange ...... just off the freeway and half way between there and the end point ...
asgraham Posted 2February, 2015 Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 Ah yes my bad Peter! It did cross my mind as to why the MG club would have a German day I'm still going though haha
Peter M Posted 2February, 2015 Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 Not that I can talk! Look at the 2nd and 4th posts. I may have confused you! I know I did myself...
BJM Posted 2February, 2015 Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 Ok I'm thinking meet at The Old Road Cafe near Mt White. Then drive to pick up asgraham from his place, staying off the HWY. It's a nice bit of road (not The Putty) but we will have to allow a bit over 2hrs to get to Newcaslte. This means we will have to leave The Old Road Cafe by 6:30am. So meeting from 6am. The biggest problem is the cafe doesn't open till 7am........no coffee.
SteveF Posted 2February, 2015 Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 Sounds like a plan. There must be somewhere we can stop along the way. Will this work with meeting up with Dreamr along the way?

BJM Posted 2February, 2015 Report Share Posted 2February, 2015 Asgraham to the rescue on the coffee front. Should work for Dreamr as its only a short distance South of the Ourimbah interchange......Dreamr?
