GTS must have options

New to this forum as I just sighed up, so here is my 1st post with 2 questions:

I am looking at buying a new 911 991 GTS. The options list is overwhelming so what do you suggest would be the must have?

Heard 991.2 platform will come out soon and some enhancements are expected to appear on GTS model. Should I place an order now or wait for the 2.0 version? Anyone knows when 991.2 will be available?

Hexman,

Welcome to the forum. As to your first question, I have also looked at the GTS recently, a couple of points to be aware of & a couple of things i think are penny pinching compared to a 991 Carrera S,

  • The standard seats on the GTS have a  manual lever for the forward & aft adjustment  with electric adjustment for the backrest & height, the Carrera S has full electric adjustment as standard
  • With the standard GTS seats the steering wheel adjustment is also manual, fully electric on the S as standard. If you stump up for full electric seats you get the electric adjustable steering wheel as well, price starts around $3,500 plus,
  • I would get the PDLS option for the cornering headlights, i have this on my S & its worth the $1,500 odd,
  • Need front & rear parking sensors, not sure if I would go for the camera though,
  • I wouldnt bother with PDCC as I have driven a couple of cars with this option & IMHO it detracts from car feel,
  • Not sure if you're thinking PDK but you should try the manual, its a brilliant drive, (personal bias exhibited here),

Your second question re 991.2,

My understanding is these will all be turbo cars, 2.7 & 3ltr engines instead of 3.4 & 3.8ltr on 991.1, I previously had a 991.1 3.4ltr & was dissapointed hence the current 3.8 ltr S, so the 991.1's are the last of the naturally aspirated cars. For me the appeal of the 991.1 GTS is its the last of the NA cars with a manual box. Just need to justify $100K c/o.

Good luck with your descision.
