964 shark fin close up pic needed

Hi,

I am putting new seals on my 964 shark fin and sill covers.  They were already shot when I bought the car so I'm not sure how the seals on both pieces meet.  There is a gap between the 2 pieces so does the seal have a gap as well or it is left a bit longer so it joins?

A close up pic of the 2 pieces would be very handy if someone has one.

Thanks.

Just went and had a look at The C2,on mine the seal finishes at the end of the sill and starts again after the gap flush with the edge of the shark fin :) 31404d1099113738-rocker-trim-removal-jus

Thanks guys for the info.  I thought it might be like that, it just looks a bit like there is something missing.

I wonder why they don't fit closer together?  Must be a reason, wouldn't be Porsche otherwise!

Order new clips!!  The rubber fitting is pretty straight forward - just hand pressed.

Thanks.  I've got all new clips and seals and fitted it all back together.  Looks just like a bought one!

Out of curiosity, where is the best place to buy just the clips from?

Got mine from James @ Autohaus...

Actually...haven't heard from James for a while....

I got mine from James too.

Do you need a full set Hugh or just a few clips for some tidying up?

Just a couple, do you have a stash of them?

Yup I should still have a few. I'll check when I get home tonight and let you know.

I have some spares - I ordered a full set but not all of them broke when I pulled the covers off.

If you get stuck send me a PM.

To answer the question though I did a largish order with PP when the dollar was a bit better.  Stocked up on them then.  For small quantities I tend to go down to Porsche themselves, more for the sake of convenience than price.
