TE911 Posted 13September, 2015 Report Posted 13September, 2015 So im looking into getting some 17" Cup 1 Wheels for the 79 911 SC.Will these sized wheels fit ?7.5" x 17" ET23 front with 235/45ZR17 and 9" x 17" ET15 rear with 265/40ZR17
BlitzKonig Posted 13September, 2015 Report Posted 13September, 2015 Yep agreed, good fitment on both front and rear.Im currently running 235/45 R17 17x8 +13 fronts and 255/40 R17 17x9 +5 on rear, and have checked, there is still space on the inside of the wheel.
TE911 Posted 14September, 2015 Author Report Posted 14September, 2015 Should be perfect fitThanks Clutch-Monkey hopefully they will fit perfect. They are almost the same size, so that's good to hear that i wont need to flare any of the fenders.
BlitzKonig Posted 14September, 2015 Report Posted 14September, 2015 Please post up photos when youve got it all setup. I would like to see what 265 on a 17" looks like. Also, what brand of Tyre?

Also, what brand of Tyre?Dont worry i will post up some pics. I'm curious how they'd look as well that's why i asked if they would fit. It has Goodyear eagle F1 tyres?? Not sure if they are good or not. that is the exact sizes and offsets of my old cup wheels on an SC, you won't need any guard work Great News! Thanks Clutch-Monkey. Do you have any pics that you could post? Now i have nothing to worry about other than their condition and the tyres.
TE911 Posted 15September, 2015 Author Report Posted 15September, 2015 Okay so i picked them up, the seller is a forum member. Pleasure to deal with!He told that they wouldn't fit but i took the gamble. He was right the rear wheels stick out about 5cm. I'm guessing it because there are already some thick spacers in place. I'm hoping that i only need to remove the old spacers altogether or get new spacers?Any help / advice on the matter?
clutch-monkey Posted 15September, 2015 Report Posted 15September, 2015 lose the spacers, you don't need them. It is much easier to simply have wheels that fit, rather than run spacers they might actually be my old wheels of you got them off here haha

TE911 Posted 16September, 2015 Author Report Posted 16September, 2015 It is much easier to simply have wheels that fit, rather than run spacers Okay so i removed the spacers and they fit perfect, but there is less than 1cm of room from them rubbing the inner guards. Is that normal Clutch-Monkey?
clutch-monkey Posted 16September, 2015 Report Posted 16September, 2015 Looks fine to me (I have 9.5"s on the back and 8"s on the front of my sc).what brakes are you running?

The clearance is really tight behind the wheels so i wasn't sure if it was normal.I think its got the standard 911sc brakes.
